View Full Version : Petrol more than Diesel.

Huhness

I know you oilers will be rubbing your grubby mitts together muttering Its about Time! But when I bought petrol this morning ULP was 122c and Diesel was 120c. Now i know thats not a huge difference but I thought it was a rude shock when I saw it!

Also why did petrol shoot up from 90c to 122c? Oil prices are now stable and so is the $AUS

Big climb in price there, but it's dependant on location...

Petrol price where I live never got to as low as 90c per litre, so I can't have the same complaint...

It's always going to go up and down anyways...

i agree the price of petrol should be around the 90cent mark. i think the oil companies are trying to once again sneak some prices increases up and make some profit before people start to act again.
its a bit of a joke, the dollar, even low, and the low price per barrel price, but still the price of petrol now is $1.20
eventually and possibly the oil price will just kill the economy.

price of oil went from $35 a barrel to about $45.. the aussie dollar also slipped and has only just stabilised..

unleaded round my way got as low as 95 cents per litre, and is now sitting at 110-115 cents..

Factors: price of oil per barrel (obviously), strength of aussie dollar against US dollar as everything is priced in US dollars - (aussie dollar drops against US, price of oil here goes up), oil companies cutting back on supply to drive up the prices.

Petrol prices in Australia are highly dependent on the spot price of Singapore Mogas 95 Ulp

The high cost of diesel in the region was a result of high demand in China etc (mining and industry). Now that the boom is effectively kaput then the demand (and price) for diesel has dropped.
