Park it square Patrick - don't hit the hats...

"Don't be a wimp Calibra boy! Put your foot down. I said 80kph NOT 18!!!"
Patrick getting told off.

That's better!! Note the rear left back wheel in the air.

Line 'er up and get her through. To the cheers and jeers of the opposing team

Troy at speed and about to hit the bend (with fictitious tree on road at left and 200 metre drop at right. The result???

Missed by THAT much !!! :)

80kph to zero as fast as you can when the whistle is blown. Oh and get the Cally around a fictitious parked car as well.

There's that rear left wheel again. Luffy is in the passenger seat here and hit the handbrake without Patrick expecting it.

Troy got this one right..

Gosh, I hope when I go do one of these things at the end of this year that they don't pull a handbrakey on the Subie... centre viscous coupling would go ape-s@$t and the engine will spit the dummy.

You'd hope that they know which cars they can and can't do a handbrake turn with. If you did a handbrake turn on the Vectra for instance - you'd kill the whole mechanism because the rear brake drums don't work together with the normal brakes like in most other cars, so it's not designed to apply friction to a moving wheel.

I pulled the handbrake once before I knew better. It "clattered" and you heard metal on metal, so I released it pretty quickly... The handbrake has never been the same since....

Wrong - around $240-ish - www.ianluff.com.au and look under Stage 1[url=http://www.ianluff.com.au]/url]

I think driving instructors of the ilk and experience of Ian Luff would know what handbrakes they can and cannot use.......

was a great day guys, really started having fun...

if you want to read a full review of the day and see some more pics jump on the holden-calibra.org/bbs page..its under the safety issues section...

the good thing now is i can skip straight to a stage 3 course which is on the actual oran park race track and speed limits dont apply

Maybe in mid Oct to whenever is fine for me. Anyone want to put that sort of date on. $240 seems to be cheaper than every other place I've seen. Plus stage 2 appeals to me as well. At least by then I'll be back in a more lower car than what I'm in as well.

$247 is what I paid with DriveSafe Australia (Same locale, different instructors) and it was in a mini-GB of 5 cars

This was in 2002.
