Guys,

you helped heaps so far re color, Astra vs Golf, dealers vs broker etc.

Now can you help out with some pointers why bigger engine eg. 2.2 in the SRI would last longer than the 1.8 in the SXI? :?

I need to decide soon. 8)

thanks heaps

1.8 needs to work harder to produce the same speed/result as 2.2. Also, 2.2 is brand new engine that is all-alloy. New technology with better, longer lasting materials.

2.2 = chain driven ohc = less maintenance costs/worries
1.8 = belt driven ohc = more frequent changes + chance of it failing

That's just 2 that come to mind immediately. Pity I've got the 1.8!

Why would you get a 1.8 when you can comfortably go for the SRi
