Not on a life model surely???

got a TomTom Go 730 for christmas and spent christmas and boxing day messing about with it rippin it apart etc to try and get it built into my car.

after some small dilemas its all done and sorted :D

now here is the pics for you to have a look at :D

first off the mic had to come out so i could place it on the holder for clarity

then the clock display had to be changed si it could fit the sat nav unit.

also had to relocate the power button so i could turn on the sat nav unit to the ashtray bit :)

nice work mate!
so did you move clock display to somewhere else? or does sat nav have the time on it?
where did you end up putting the mic?
how did you get your car etc to display on the screen?

Very nice work mate! Looks awesome!!

The Mic is on top as seen in the pics. Sat Navs usually show time as well as speed of the vehicle etc.

Could you somehow, wire the power behind the dash?

Yeah i like a thread in the GPS thread about installing a tomtom one XL.
He extended the power down to a button next to the accesory socket, then used a usb accesory charger so he was able to upload new maps to the GPS without having to remove it, whilst retaining the ability to charge it ;)

I'm moving the clock display up to the roof console part so i can still see all the tracks on the cd player etc.

sat nav does have the time on it also tells me my speed, couple of other cool features is it has a photo album so i have a few pics of the car in germany etc there also its is BlueTooth compatible so instead of having my phone by my side i just put it into my arm rest and i can answer my phone from the sat nav unit :D

I drilled a little hole in the loder that the sat nav is in so i could push the mic through so when i'm speaking into it the person can hear me loud and clear.

The wee car picture that is on the nav map is something i managed to change on my computer then load it back onto the files of the sat nav unit :D ;)

awesome mate, youve got some brains there :D
so to put your car onto the screen you just changed a file? instead of the arrow file you have a file of your car?

kinda off topic, but if im correct about the above, then itd be possible to use your car as a cursor on windows instead of an arrow? im liking this idea!

yeah basically, for instance there is a file in the sat nav name X.bmp so all i did was take it off the sat nav, load up paint change the look of it, save it as X.bmp and replace the file back into the sat nav and hey presto.
