have you got a green wire and a black wire going into a white plug? thats the indicator from memory

-edit-
for low beams, should be a the yellow/black combo which hooks up to factory yellow/brown wiring
for high beams, should be white/black combo connecting to factory white/brown

one sec...

CNBLU
16th December 2008, 12:18 PM
yes that is connected but when i indicate it flashes really quickly like i have a blown bulb

glider
16th December 2008, 12:20 PM
hmm, maybe try the indicator bulb from the factory lights? maybe the FK bulb is a different resistance?

CNBLU

These came off an astra g. So it should just plug in.

Wraith
16th December 2008, 12:25 PM
I've got the FK's Gav. they just plug in straight up !

If it's not working, you may have mixed up one for another maybe ??

I recommend unplugging all the looms and start again one at a time, they should have come with a wiring diagram showing what's what...

If you still stuck by tonight, I'll have a look at mine when I get home and help further :)

CNBLU

The only whie and black wire i have is the one coming out of the angel eyes

glider
16th December 2008, 12:57 PM
i think i confused you

what i mean is an actual white and black striped wire

as seen connected to the white plug in the picture below

JR

mine is the same as what glider said.

n as u said, the yellow/brown goes to ur hid ballast.

u should have a black/white wire coming out of the headlight.

have a look at the diagram below.
the only diff is i connected/plugged #5 to #6, and #7 to #8. this way i can use the existing parker plug, and don't have to wire up anything.

hope this helps.

umm looking at that photo

is that brown wire on the high beam connected to the white wire and so forth (reversed polarity)?

JR
16th December 2008, 01:18 PM
oh..oh....oh....i remember now.

its the positive & negative wires.

on the headlights - the negative wire = black
on the astra - the negative wire = brown.

u'll notice (in da pics) for the highbeam plug - the brown wire (of the car) is inline/connecting to the white wire (of the headlight).
dats why its not working!!

swap these around n bob's ur uncle.

its simple - u might need a needle or pin or something to push the metal connector out from the plastic plug, swap, n click it back in.

try that.

aza28
16th December 2008, 02:03 PM
can't see why indicator won't work, ur using the standard wiring, aren't u? - it SHOULD simply be a matter of securing to headlight...... very weird.

Jerram
16th December 2008, 02:15 PM
obvious point but are the bulbs still good? Also remember that some Angeleye lights come with no indicator bulbs or the bulbs are in a package seperate meaning you have to install them yourself.

CNBLU

Just pulled it out and its blown:(

Will go down to autobarn and replace it. I just hooked up the otherside and its working. All good will put up pics shortly.

So it's all worked out with the lights ?? great stuff, I don't need to go check out mine for you :)

Damn Gav. your car is looking more and more like my vert everytime I see it LOL...

You now have similar door mounted turbo badges, same grille, same headlights, similar external side mirrors and similar centre console gauges set up...:)

Almost a copy cat clone turbo hatch version of my turbo vert LOL :D

All you need now is a nice set of 20's and it'll be complete :p :)

Here's a similar garage shot of mine :)

Are you going to keep the old headlights? I might get it off you if you don't want it.

CNBLU

Ok so i've installed the HID's and ive noticed that im not getting the same coverage as i did before i had the angels.

The light seems dipped too much and ive adjusted them from the top but its still to short. Any ideas?

glider

you may have to adjust the actual headlight in its mounting screws to get the height you're after

if you end up taking them to a panel beater or for someone to have a look at make sure you keep a close eye on what they're doing. I got mine adjusted and they broke my left hand side angels, the high beam reflector just sits loose in there now.

wouldn't have a clue on how to adjust your lights though

JR

is ur motor level adjusters connected properly?
u need to remove them from ur old headlights, n screw them into ur angel eyes (after u remove the dummy plug).
the same thing happened to another opelaus memeber ("J") - turns out his was not plugged in, hence it was so so low. he took it to an autoelectrian who tried adjusting (from the top), but he over did it, n it jumped out of the tracks. it couldn't b manually adjusted anymore, until the headlight was opened n the pin put back in its tracks.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e122/jrappai/Da%20Car/13122006162.jpg
its the round knob with the fan looking thing on it. in the pic, its below left of the high-beam back cover.

if u already have the motor adjusters, then as glider said, u may need to physically adjust the mounting position of the headlight.

gav, when i had them installed my right light was fine, but the left one was not properly connected to the motor, i was far to lazy to fix it so i left it :)

CNBLU

Both my lights are fine but they are dipped alot.... i can see the light projection only 2 or 3 meters infront of me.

Didnt think of the adjusting motors:)
