Hey all
The astra has hit 60k and was wondering if Holden still change the cam belt and water pump at this stage , i know they used to on the TS but dont know on the AH.
Because if they do i will get the parts from Autovaux .
Dont say phone Holden and ask as i did that and well it did not go well .
Holden : Morning Holden service
Me : Astra Sri-Turbo do you still change the cam belt at a 60k service
Holden : Astra ??? mmmmmmm
Me : you know an Astra like a commadore but heaps better
Holden : oh yea just a mo ( yells out to some bloke in back ground) Astra are they chain or belt ... (muffled words said) new voice heard in back ground they are chain
Me : SIGH
Holden : mate ,they chain driven so dont need to change them
Me: sigh thanks

I am wondering who the silly one is... You can get your maintenance work done by an certified mechanic AND keep your warranty coverage. Common knowledge.

Not necessarily. My MY07 AH Sri-T was every 120,000km. Check your manual mate..the one that came with the car.

Remembering in NZ there are only 12 SRi T AH's. The 2.2 Is has a timing chain. They are more then likely thinking its a 2.2 SRi not a SRi Turbo.
Take the car in to the dealership and tell them its a SRi T with a Z20LER fitted. they should be able to check up with there techincal information and they should be able to pin point it having a timing belt fitted.

From memory with out looking @ my book on the VXR i think the service life has changed on AH Z20LE varants . Not sure if its 80,000km or 120,000 though .

thats interesting, i always thought it was 60,000km.
if the book says 120,000, then i'd say do it at 90km- better safe than sorry.
anybody know the difference between the Z20LET with the R, that makes the newer R last 120k?

The service intervials have changed from SRi T TS Astras to a AH SRi T. It could be a number of things. it could be a redesigned set up etc.
TS Astra SRi T still stands @ 60,000km though unless otherwise speicifed by holden in a techincal bulliten.
