I know many of you have been following Pete's (UK) V8 Astra build. But just in case you've missed it or for those that are not aware of it . . . check this out!

Now that's a sweet sounding Astra!

Also for those of you who haven't been following this build, check out Pete's album. Awesome build . . . shame about the color!

Is there anything on Earth for a vehicle powerplant that sounds better than a sweet V8 - not IMO ;)

As for the LS1 it does sound good, I've owned one, you can also ask Steve, but with their revised firing order, they sound no where near as good as the older gen. of V8's...

This Astras been around for a while now and it has come along just nicely - love the tail light choice ;)

Yeah i've tried to get mine to sound 1/2 decent (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHzkZZ3Mqzk)
but very hard to get even close to an aussie 5.0 sound!!

LS2/LS3 does get close though!!

But i love the fact that the V8 sound is coming out the back on an Astra, still very cool!!!

NEMO, where'd you see it for sale, after all those years of creating it, bit of a shame to get rid of it after a short while on the road!!

Yes, very true, the V8 sound coming out of the back of anything that wasn't originally born with a V8 is very cool :)

I remember when I was driving my V8 Chev powered XU1 Torana on the roads for around 3 years, it always caused turning heads everywhere :D

Dosn't surprise me it'd be up for sale - if you've ever done this kind of project (I have with the afore mentioned Torana and so did so many mates of mine) it's very easy to become sick of it all or simply tire from all the hard work, effort, money and constant unnecessary or unwanted attention it all causes and want to move on...

I know I would never want to do it again, once is enough...still in this case as some people do, he may be selling it to fund another project...

I think he has actually just sold it. I know he wanted around the 25K mark for it but didnt expect to see 15-18K due to the financial situation in the UK at the moment. There was only half a dozen replies in his thread until someone jumped in!

Holden 4.9-5.0 (304-308) sound like crap. I used to be a 1 eyed Holden Boy, But a Well Built Ford 302-351 (Windsor or Cleveland) wins in Sound & Power.

For a V8, you can't beat a flat plane crank as used by Ferrari, Maserati or the new Audi's...

Absolute Aural Sex... ;)
