Well its that time of year again. Just got my renewal notice from NRMA and they want to slug me an extra $11 a month, even though I'm now over 25. They want $200 a month!!!!

Got a letter in the mail from Real Insurance and so I went to their website and got a quote. Came down to $120 per month. A huge saving!

Has anyone heard of Real Insurance or had any dealings with them?

Who do u have your car insured with and how much do you pay?

Thanks :D

$2200 per year,I have two VXR`s and a 1977 Chrysler insured through Shannons all comprehensive. The Valiant is an agreed value but it is based on the car doing minimal milage each year.
$500 excess and drivers over 25 years of age do not need to be nominated. All cars are on the one policy and I get a discount for that.

I pay $800 a yr on rating 1 for life with AAMI.

Insurance depends on location of where u live, any many claims in that location, your claims history, and driving history.

NRMA is the highest i have seen, they wanted $1500 from me, like no way.

Been with AAMI all my driving life, will change in time, but they are good for what you pay for!

what about that Budget Direct Insurance they keep advertising on TV, i did an estimate with them pretending i was 25 (you have to be over 25) and it was dirt cheap compared to my current RACV one, perhaps coz I am only 21

I am with NRMA

Drive - VXR

Age - 24

Location - Parramatta

Cost - $1850

I just know this will rise next year, even though I will hit 25.

I checked just car, $800 for a year but excess is $2100. At the end of the day, if you don't drive like a tool and get into an accident you will never have to pay the premium. My logic is why pay over 2k on a premium when you can on excess only in the event of an accident. I will be with just car next year.

So I just canned my NRMA insurance, almost $2300 a year and took out a new Policy with Real Insurance. Originally they only wanted to insure my car for $25500 but I said NRMA would insure it for $31540 and thats what I wanted, so now my premium is just over $1600 year. HUGE saving!

WOOT!
