Nissan offers the first look at the upcoming 2009 370Z Coupe, which makes its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 19 November. The all-new 2009 Nissan 370Z, the first full redesign of the iconic Nissan Z since its reintroduction as a 2003 model, solidifies the strengths of its predecessor with an unmatched balance of performance, style and value. The all-new Z will go on sale at Nissan dealers in early 2009.

Wow, first Nissan brings out a 911 beater and then a near carbon copy, but that can be looked upon as a good thing.

Although I'm quite liking the interior. Its a huge step up from the current one's plastic fantastic interior. It was pretty much what let the car down completely, IMO of course.

But damn this reeks of 911.

Yeah, saw this thing last week....Love it all, except for the 'fish hook' as they're calling it head and tail light design... :)

Near carbon copy of the R35 GT-R orion_996  have you got your glasses on ?? :p :D

I don't see that at all...

Ones thing's for sure, TT kits will be available before long and these things are going to rock !!!

Must say I do like it but as Wraith says the lights piss me off a little and it has the shape of a 911. Orion the bonnet may look like a GT-R's but the rest I dont think does.
I dislike the interior although I would drive it ;)

certainly does have a porsche look about it, but i still like it :)

I can see a hint of Z4 coupe in the profile... especially the line from the front guard into the door.

I can't really see Porsche in it. The proportions are all different.

I like it..

I agree with Orion_996 the new interior is very well designed. Lets hope that the materials/plastics are also improved.

Anyway I can imagine this car will look better in the flesh than in photos.

+1, I'm also seeing the Z4 Coupe through the stumpy rear

I have to agree with rjastra...I can't see Porsche in here as well.

I have to say, I think this is a better effort from Nissan than the GTR...mainly because this thing is guaranteed to be a drivers car not a PS3-gamers car....

And yeah let's hope the interior is not plastic fantastic as Orion said.

Hackstra
31st October 2008, 11:32 AM
Yeah I'm struggling seeing Porshce in there too, apart from the fact it has two doors

rjastra

I am really trying to see the 370Z in the 911... really really trying :P
As I said before... the proportions are completely different as you would expect in car with the engine completely different locations.

I swear people say that one car looks like another simply because it has 4 wheels.

now its been pointed out i can see the 911 in it, its in the egg-shaped back end...everything else such as the angular lights is different to Porsche of course

i like the look, i think Nissan went in the right direction :)

Oh, just to clear up, I was trying to say that first Nissan brought out a 911 beater and then a copy of it (the 911 not the GTR).

To me it looks a lot like a 911, overall same basic shape, maybe the proportions in real life will make it different but on that photo, from the rear view you can't deny it.

Also I agree with Wraith those curved taillights and headlights that Nissan and a few other Japanese companies have gone with are just weird. Don't like it at all.

I think you fellas have eyesight problems...I can see more of Mini Cooper in there than Porsche.

i think it looks ok..the front lights and rear lights are questionable, but i think this revision tends to look more like the original 240z (or whatever the original one was back in the 70's), especially that front lower lip.
ohh and i love the interior.

dirty harry, that Datsun is gorgeous! That and the Toyota 2000GT are some of my fav jap classics.

As for the 370Z I agree with david have to see it in the flesh to like it probably, but at the end of the day it is still a sub 75K RWD v6 coupe which gets a big thumbs up for me!

DirtyHarry

yeah that 240z looks the money....very clean and nicely restored.
back then, when that car came out, it was a head turner, both for its looks but performace/price wise...just like the gtr is doing to the porsche.

id love to have that car as a "weekend" car. would definetly pull the chicks at brighton bro :-)

LOL, I always look forward to your posts and you never fail to deliver...

Tell me then, why Brighton and not say St Kilda or Elwood ?? classier milf there ?? :D :p

Back on topic, what's out there on specs look very encouraging for this new Z

It uses the same 3.7ltr V6 as used in the Infiniti G7 Coupes, tuned to at least 250kw with around 370nm and it weighs less than the current 350Z, it'll have an improved and stiffer chassis and better suspension than the current car also, which means it'll have much better handling, combined with a very good power/weight ratio makes for a very good sports car... :)

Here's what I reckon, anyone who gets behind the wheel of that thing will love it :)

LOL Ange :D Well I guess at St Kilda you'll be pulling chicks if you have some choof :D

Nah, out of all the Jap 'sports' cars this is the only true sports car. My all-time favourite jap cars are the 350z and S2000 and 98 model Integra Type-R and perhaps the Celica GT4 that Sainz drove into rally history books and...hmmm EVO6 Makkinen edition. Quite a few...damn

bornwild
5th November 2008, 11:34 PM
But as someone already said....for a $70k sports car, Nissan ought to start building better interiors, the current 350Z is horrid!

I think harry was not referring to Brighton in Melbourne which is ok

but rather brighton le sands in sydney - which is where all the sooped up rexy boys go. They had to close off a street at night to prevent hoons from doing laps.

My fav. colour for this car is the grey, (see pics) but IMHO it looks good in any of the released colours...you can't go wrong with any colour on this car ;)
