its an x20xev, the ecolump.
and yer pete, its something for me to play with.
i have some mechanical knowledge, but not heaps.
so rebuilding this is me takin a different step.
will be gettin an engine stand for it next week.
then to get some tools :)

Sounds good Pete, have fun :)
You seem to be doing or going down the same road Tai did several years back...
I remember doing the same with several V8 Chev engines at once on engine stands at my parents' place years ago :D one with NOS one with an 871 blower and one fairly standard, even fabricated a purpose built engine crane hoist to interchange them from the cars :)
Pity your not in Melb. I could've lent you all that hardware - I still have it all, 3 engine stands and an engine crane hoist that'll slide under anything no matter how low :)

that looks like great fun
i have a friend who's restoring an old Torana who's going to do an engine drop similar to what you're going...he's bought a 5 litre V8 in a crate (can't remember which one) and a stroker kit to put it up to 5.7 :)
some day i want to do the same when i have time...probably in 30 years when i retire! enjoy, rebuilding it yourself by hand will be an awesome experience

have ordered an engine stand, $80 for a 750lb (340kg) one.
will be a couple of weeks before it gets here, they are out of stock.
could of picked up a 1250lb (600kg) one, but it would of been too big for the limited area i have to work on it
unwrapped it, just to take some pics really lol
