wtf?
the countach is THE most sexiest, most drool worthy, most pants wettingly exciting car ever made, and it will be many many many a millenia before any car is made which could even dream of competing against it.
sure faster cars exist, and will continue to be made, but the countach is a legend that will never be forgotten.
it is pure beauty.
even the supercars of the year 3000 will look old school when sitting next to a countach.
the car itself may age, but its looks and appeal never will.

Far out, what an awesome effort - I say well done to that individual

The Countach is one of my all time classics and favourite cars too, I had a huge picture frame of one of these in my bedroom as a youngster :)

I can understand younger folk not liking this or other older cars, like even the Ferrari Testarossa, which don't look all that flash now, but in their day they were as outstanding as the most outstanding cars today, but if you grew up in the same generation as them, it's a different story ;)

My cousin is currently fully rebuilding/restoring and converting to RHD a '67 Camaro convertible special edition model, imported in bits from the U.S. can't wait for this thing to be completed in about 12 months time, I've already asked him for permission to bring it along to a future meet :)

it was an awesome looking car to me.... in the 80's that is..

but now it looks dated.. still a nice looking car.. but to say it's the hottest thing out there is just plain living in the past..

I just cant say the Countach is a good looking car. :)

Yes, it was the 80's and car styling wasn't what it is now, but I can't agree that the Countach is good looking 30 years later when it was so dog ugly to begin with.

in 20 years time the aston will look like something from 2008 (just a guess)
and the lambo will still look like something from the future.
as i said, it never ages, and it will never lose its beauty.
in your favour though, the paint will need another coat :D

also in your favour, the lambo interior looks v bland, the aston probably wins in the interior dept.
and probably drivability,
but looks? uh uh, no way siree

Not really fair guys, you can't compare a 25 year old Lambo to a modern day Aston...

Are there any Aston pics from the same era ??

BTW what's under the skin of that Aston, mechanical running gear wise...at least the Lambo has Lambo DNA through and through, back then anyway...

Don't know if I'd want to pay nearly 500k or whatever it's worth for a Ford engine and same trans as used in an XR6T...

ASTRAY
30th October 2008, 04:00 PM
not sure about now, but around 10 years ago the lambos were going for around 250k, used obviously.

heres one in cairns for $230k

Love the look of the countach and think that build is epic, looks similar to another car of that era. Does anyone remember the De Tomaso Pantera, thats very similar to the Lambo in my books maybe not so radical.
