Vectra or Mondeo

Looking at a CDXI for the missus, anything I should lookout for or know about these cars before we test drive??

We are also looking at the Mondeo SP220 as it looks to be a lot sportier and has those lovely red Recaro’s.

IMHO between those 2 specific cars above I'd go for the Vectra.

However if it were a current Xr5 Mondeo you were looking at, despite the extra $$$ I'd have one of those anyday over any Opel/Daewoo/Holden in the same class...

two very nice cars there TEET... the cdxi is the same spec as the UK GSI, so it is top of the line. i dont know if its the same in NZ, but the 05 cdxi has a few more goodies the 04 doesnt. eg like electric seats, auto wipers, auto lights, mp3 6-stack cd.

im not sure if you should look out for anything in particular, prob just the ordinary service history and general condition. might want to try www.vectra-c.com for some more advice.

Mate, ST220 anytime....did you know the ST220 is rarer in the UK than any Aston Martin? :D

The ST220 is the spiritual brother of the Focus RS mk1. You gotta buy that...but then your missus will have a better car than you :D

Cheers guys, the ST220 is a nicer car, as said very rear but it’s twice the cost of a regular model and the build quality is the same. I could get a Vectra for much cheaper.

Haven’t driven either as yet, was just fishing for potential faults on the Vectra.
