Hey all,

There is a BP Ultimate Diesel Online forum taking place on 23 October and is open to all Australian residents. I am an expert on the night as I am BP’s Technical Manager. The forum will give people the chance to chat live with three experts: Allan Whiting, 4x4 Australia Magazine’s Technical Editor; John Carey, Associate Editor of Wheels Magazine; and myself. We’ll be sharing our knowledge with participants and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about all things diesel.

Thanks, I have had a conversation with one of BP's technical consultants, it's got a nice detergent package and a higher cetane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cetane_number) number (~similar to petrol octane rating), leading to more controlled combustion and quieter & less smoky operation.

Interestingly they took an excellent product off the market recently BP Diesel GO (http://www.bp.com/liveassets/bp_internet/australia/corporate_australia/STAGING/local_assets/downloads_pdfs/f/Fuel_news_bp_diesel_go.pdf) that was a lubricant, detergent package and water scavenger, this turned ordinary diesel into something much better, shame :( The great thing about Diesel Go was the economical mix-rates, 1 ml / litre of diesel. @ $14 / litre it was 1.4 c/ litre cost.
