Oh please can we not start on this again ????? I get so frustrated with those criminal bastards! A friend of mine needed a quote on his CV8 for a broken button on his steering wheel and they quoted him just over $500     im like WTF ????????
It really would cost a million bucks to build a car from Holden parts, then they cant even fit the parts properly. useless bunch they are....

ALL OEM parts, especially stereo decks purchased from GMH themselves will cost a small fortune, it's always been that way !!!
I remember getting a price for a replacement factory Eurovox unit installed in my 1983 model VH SL/E Commodore in 1989 and it was around $1,500 for that POS back then
Just get an aftermarket unit :)

You can purchase the plug thats in the centre console. I have somewhere at home as i couldnt use it with the CDC40. My understanding is that you need the plug and connect it to the back of the head unit for it to work.'
