Well, im just waiting on my tax return and i will be all cashed up to buy a SRi-T.

This one is cheap and the colour i want but im concerned about the K's. It got its timing belt changed at 100k, dont know if they did water pump at the same time. ill ask when i look.

im just worried its going to need a whole lot of parts changed beause of its k's, which could end up costing me as much as a 60k model???

should i wait it out for a better example? If it does need parts, im not worried about labour costs as i will do all the work myself but ive heard parts are expensive for these cars...also the turbo is probably due for replacement at those kms :(

How many kms did your car have when you purchased? and what sort of maintenance did you need to do at those kms? im just trying to get things into perspective for me as this is all new. sorry for long post...

being at 121k it *SHOULD* have had a major service not too long ago

as glider said check that the 120k major service has been done (same as 60K service). other then that it really depends on how it's been driven/looked after.
there are a few members on here with km's up around there and higher now without any real troubles.

these cars are pretty reliable overall.. mines @ 118k and going well (touch wood) but needs a new thermostat.

wonder why the timing belt was changed @ 100k.

overall there have been some high km examples overseas without too much drama...

gearboxes seem pretty sturdy..

Huhness- wasn't that much!!

i purchased my 03 when it was 18 months old back in early 2005 for $24.5k with 32,000km on the clock.

Sexy colour.
I would only be checking who has owned this in the past and maybe even contact them if you can. I did that with every car I looked at before I bought my current astra turbs.

Won't be Wayne's car. A young chick on her P's picked that up the day before I was about to put my deposit down.
I still see her around with opelaus stickers and all.

the owner said the major service was done at 100k and that the 2.0L belts only need doing every 100k??? i thought it was ment to be done at 60k....

$14.5k for an 03 sri-t.......fark me dead!!!!
dats damn cheap!
wat chance do i have sellin my car for $11-13k!?!?!

if the car has been serviced well, and on time, u shouldn't expect any troubles out of it.
my car is not a turbo, but its done almost 140k kms with no issues or problems - apart from the water pump had to be replaced. common problem that is.
expect the same or better for the turbo

You must buy this car ! I would love to own that.

well easy enough to check out the car, take some1 that has a good diag module, mine car read when it was last serviced/reset ect...

i would say it has had a front accident, cause no1 in their right mind would ditch the sri-t front bar for that piece of shit hbd bar, no offence to ne1 that has 1 ;).

almost worth getting for spare parts :).
image, even if the motor's rooted, youd have enough left in the kitty to do a hi-po rebuild :D.
