probly more of an ICE question but has anyone converted the little storage area on the center consol of the astra ts into a working head unit?
is this possible?
i want to install a dvd screen/player :cool:

I moved my head unit to the lower area and placed the storage compartment where the stock head unit was. What you want to do can definitely be done.

no issues at all and not a messy job at all just a few screws

i actually wanted to do something similar - move the heater controls down to where the storage area is, n bring that up so i can put a double-din audio system.

essentially a swap between the heater controls & the storage area.

so basically from top i want:-
1. vents
2. original audio headunit
3. storage space
4. heater & ac controls

i believe this will require some cutting n glueing together.

a double din would b awsum, i think they are so much better than single din. having said that tho the motorised screens are cool :cool:

anyone know of any good single din dvd players/multimedia units??
money is not an issue:D

Ive done mine. Its so much better where it is now as my hand is always on the gear knob anyways, so i can still reach and change the station or volume or track without having to look at it.

Yes, it's possible to do - good example above with Gavin's...

The pocket has a frame which will come out, then it will be a regular single din sized hole, just like the other one above it.

I've also done something with it and installed a single din 4 gauge ICE item in that location :)
