Hi guys,

I was going to spray some lubricant on the roof pivot points to help it get through the summer without problems. Do you know what I should use and the best places that need lubricant?

Was thinking of silicone spray or something like wd40.

Would be good it someone had access to a detailed service information - don't thing Holden every do anything at service - they make too much money when the thing goes wrong ;)

That's a good question, I've actually never done mine in the 4 years I've owned my vert, but I rarely drive the car so the roof is rarely used...

I wouldn't go using anything, until finding out the exact product that's required nicecar !

Alot of these silicone sprays etc. have nasty side effects, drying up etc. so find out what it is that's suitable 1st...

If there's no info in the cars manual, you may have no choice but to hunt around and ask a Holden service department for info - yes I know most of em are next to useless, but hopefully you'll find at least one that can put you on the right track...

The only other thing I can think of that I'd do, is check with a soft top repair shop and see if they can shed some light on the topic...

If you do find out what's needed, post it up as I and other vert owners could also use this info :)

Good point, mate. I too have never oiled/greased/lubricated mine other than I keep a regular check to make sure it all LOOKS alright. Only thing I have needed to track down so far is replacement O rings that slip on the locking mechanism pins where they go into the header rail. Both O rings had split, so bought a few extra at the time.

I'll check with our maintenance department and see when their "lubrication specialist" is next due to visit. I'm sure he would be able to recommend (i.e. sell!) me something that would be suitable. Still waiting to catch up with him in regards to the hydraulic oil needed.

Will drop any information on here if/when I get it.
