Yesterday, looking at autoblog, I came across this nice little website for diesel fanatics.
http://www.dieselpowermag.com/index.html
It's quite an interesting read, though in pure American style, quite non-technical also. Nevertheless it does have some technical articles.
Few interesting things I saw is this 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 with 766bhp at the wheels....:D Using only about 23mpg(if I remember correctly this equates to about 10/100km?!)
http://www.dieselpowermag.com/features/dodge/0809dp_2006_dodge_ram_3500/index.html
Also, worlds quickest diesel powered dragster running a 6.99s quarter-mile
http://www.dieselpowermag.com/news/0807dp_cummins_diesel_dragster/index.html
And this article about tuning some diesels, where they got 260kW at the wheels via rather simple tunes
http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/dodge/0809dp_59l_vs_67l_cummins_turbo_diesel/cummins_turbo_diesel_fuel_injection.html
And that's all using American diesel tech...imagine if they started using some Euro tech diesels, such as the twin-turbo 3.0l from BMW or twin-turbo 2.0l from Merc which produces 500Nm already in stock form!
Boy oh boy
