View Full Version : HSV's New VXR Microsite

For those who didn't know, HSV have a new site up for the VXR, got some footage of it being put through it's paces at Holden's proving ground in Lang Lang, Victoria etc. HSV seem to be picking up their promoting of the VXR with both this and the addition of massive billboards around Melbourne. Amuses me how they point out it 'features' a VXR logo on the steering wheel along with the Opel Performance Centre dash.

Something I found interesting was that ALL our Nurburgring VXR's get the optional Remus exhaust. And they list the 'standard' VXR as having 177kw and the 'Nurb' as 176kw.

So if they have a HSV VXR Remus exhaust added how come I am having so much trouble getting a quote to add one to my standard VXR
Think I may now be best to go back and try to HSV to do a quote for me.

Cos they have to come in a kit from the UK... the remus is standard on the burg, shipped that way from opel in belgium

Ive given up and am getting a system custom made

Not sure that is correct as the OPC `Burg does not have a Remus
The Remus is installed to the UK versions in the UK.
I am still hanging in there for a bit longer before I go the custom path.

HSV don't fit the Remus exhaust here. It comes fitted already on the car.

That video looked good and it sounded awesome, mind you the other video shows a Vxl with 18" wheels and active lighting :o

There is no remus fitted to the VXR Nurburgring in Australia. The cars are shipped direct to Australia from production line.

Have a close look at the pics of the units fitted on car point. they are stock exhaust. How ever they are not miss leading anyone as the stock factory system is a Remus developed system.

The site is great. HSV are giving the VXR a mid life push. Which i think is good to incease exposure. HSV have done well with the VXR in terms of sales. And this can only help and increase the sales.

Kabel good things come to thoses who wait. My bluefin should arrive next week i hope. Look forward to taking the car for a drive once i have installed Stage one. Next step is to find a Milltek. And ill be working on having it before christmas.

Shaun

If they do have the standard exhaust, they are misleading by stating, "All HSV VXR Nurgburgring models are provided with the OPTIONAL Remus Sports exhaust system."

I thought i was loading a website for Target at first...

HSV need to run a solid tv ad, that'd make people aware the vxr even exists

They were meant to but they would have cost another 2k to be fitted with the " Optional " system and would have taken another 2 months to arrive to australia .

then take a screen shot and go buy one, then after you've taken delivery complain that it doesnt have the remus exhaust. if they dont supply one, take them to the office of fair trading for false advertising.

it also states one of the colours as Star Silver.. when in fact it has been replaced with Silver Lightning... you would expect to HSV to be a little more thorough in their ability to get things like this right.

I did actually spot the billboards over the last couple of weeks and thought, "meh, too little too late" or maybe really trying to move the buggers, as alot of the 2nd batch have been sitting idle at HSV stealer yards for months and of course no takers for the burger ring...

Does this 'new' VXR micro sight feature the new lightning silver colour yet ???

Are you kidding LOL :D how many times have we been over how thorough - or not - HSV has been with this whole Aust. VXR program...truly shameful

And here's another charmer as stated above, Remus exhaust when it's not the case....faaaar out good one yet again HSV

Just come out in public and yell out what your all saying behind closed doors - "We don't give a rats sfinkta for 4 potters, it's all about the V8's, this is just to satisfy GMH's sales plans and we've been lumped with trying to flog off a 4 potter again" :D

Where do you get the second batch has been sitting at idle? Mine is from the second Batch. 1st Batched arrived in October 2006. Second batch arrived June 2007. 3rd Batch arrived in May 2008. For HSV to order more units in 2008 dont you think they would have moved the second batch from 2007 with only a handful left prior to ordering the 3rd batch in 2008.

Apologies, 3rd batch then...I can't remember the exact date, but I think when Mr Bornwild and I were there checking them out earlier this year, it was March or April, not May...eg: of sitting idle, KD's recieved only 2 and both are still there all these months later ;)

One of them is being used as a demo and rep 'home drive' car.

As you know from my other thread, they've recieved one white VXR and up until this weekend, still no takers...I know because they called me again and tried yet again to flog it it off to me

This time I just said nah, I'm interested in that other new colour silver lightning - or is it star silver, hell you guys don't even know yourselves :D

Speak for you the dealerships you have been to. I can name two dealerships in sydney that have staff who know the product quite well. Do you guys realise that each dealership has an Appointed HSV salesperson.

Talk to the HSV rep in the dealerships. They have all the Marketing gear on these cars such as bullitens and press releases.

All HSV Approved Dealers have A HSV sales person. It more then likely part of Dealer Standards Set By HSV when taking on the franchase. Only certian dealers are appointed as HSV dealers.

Getting back to the topic though of the Nurburgring. They will move. They only just arrived. I would dare say thought that VXR owners who are ready to move on to a new car will snap these up. or HSV collectors.

Jay if you want to buy one and werent happy with there service its quite simple. Move on to another dealership. More then likely they could tell you werent keen to purchase. When people purchase the likes of a special editon they dont tend to ask questions proir ot making the purchase. Most have already done the homework. When i bought my VXR i never even went in and test drove one at the dealership. they knew i was serious with in the 1st ten mins when i started asking for there best price there and then .

This may be true Shaun, but sorry to say, alot of them still don't know WTF they're talking about when it comes to the VXR...

All the info I've talked about recently was from KD's in Melb. as already stated and that is the only Melb. dealer with a totally separate site (across the rd.) with nothing but HSV vehicles, so you'd think they are up with all the latest knowledge - but not so...however ask about any of the V8 range and all is revealed.

I've also been to Booran in Dandenong, Ralph DaSilva in Preston (they're the worst) and it's the same story...maybe I'll pop into Gary Warren & Smith again - that's where I spotted the lightning silver VXR and see if they know any better...

I sense a Wraith road trip coming on ;) .... Ange does the Australia wide HSV tour, to see if there is a dealership out there that actually knows something about the cars they sell, or are they only things to flog off and meet quotas?

Hahahaha LOL :D

Interesting you should say that as I've already done all the other possible HSV tours, ie:

* HSV Clayton factory tour twice, once to see my HSV R8 being built and once on a separate visiting tour and had a great loooong conversation with Mr Skaife :D

* HSV launch at a private industry only screening at the Melb. Casino of the HSV VX range, had a not so great long talk with Mr Payne, this guys a true bean counter :)

* HSV Clayton again, this time for a closed/private marketing focus session on the new model range (back then the VY & VZ range) and access to the more private areas of the Clayton site, again not so great long session with Mr Payne - more like pain in the arse this bloke :D

Australia wide tour, meh I'll pass on that one, unless of course they throw in a vehicle I can use and keep for free if I do so - I'd like a white or red W427 please :D
