Is there a new skyline available over here?

not the GT-R, but a base spec skyline in a very similar shape to the GT-R?

reason i ask is cause i saw one this morning on the way to work with skyline badges, just very plain looking compared to the GT-R

its an infiniti g35, which is similar to the 350z, but with intended as a more classy model

i think it would be a grey import unless nissan sold them as a 350z variant

They're called the Infiniti G35 only in the US, these are brought in from Japan, Skyline 350gt. There is also a Sedan version. They use the same VQ35 as the 350z, and the interior is similar, with the exception that the coupe has 4 seats as opposed to the 350z's 2.

The V35 models have been around since 2001, and there are plenty of grey imports around Vic, have also seen a few V36's (2006-) floating around too!!!

Yeah, seen one of these Infinitys here in Adelaide a few months back. As said, grey imports. For just as grey geese, IMHO :)

Yep, that's the ones...

They've been around for a while, but I too only first saw one on the road not that long ago...they look pretty good IMO and they compete in the luxo bracket against BMW and Merc. etc. apparantly the high spec models are very good, so say alot of the peeps on the BMW forum who've been cross shopping them with Beemers over in the U.S.

They (Infiniti brand) are Nissan's answer to Toyota's Lexus and Mazda's Eunos brands ;)

they're great cars, grey imports as said above that use the 350Z frame and engine. either called an Infiniti G35 if its from the US or a Skyline if its from Japan. very fast in a straight line despite being a tank with four doors and leather seats!

isnt that the skyline model that Australia did not officially get?

I think we got up to the R33. Then R34 and the 350GT were only grey imports. But the GTR is coming back:D

We only got the R32 GTR officially (100)

The last Skyline sedan we got was the R31 (that was built here).

The r33,r34 were all grey imports.

Correct :)

And that R31 was a very nice machine !!! I always wanted one in the late '80's in white or red, but they were rare and pricey...

USC the Infiniti G series coupes were targeted mainly towards the U.S market to compete mainly with Lexus over there, but have done well against the Euro exotics as well in that market...
