Hi Everyone,

My name is Pete . . . I bought an AH08 Astra CDX Coupe in April this year and thought I would join the forum to learn more about my car.

I have previously owned a couple of Mazda RX7s and a Toyota MR2 . . .

Down the track I'll be fitting some VXR 19" alloy wheels, eibach lowered spring kit and a full exhaust system.

Hopefully I can get some photos of the Astra up in a few days . . .

Yes there is a difference in performance but not a great one. The RX7 was powered by a stock port 12A with a set of 4.44 diff gears (for better acceleration which isn't against the law . . . yet!). The MR2 had a non-turbo 3SGE motor and felt as quick as a Camry but with superior handling to my mates Honda S2000.

I live in Toowooomba but go to QR and Brisbane every once and a while.

Been under the pump at work so will put pics up of the Astra over the weekend.
