So can someone photoshop it to see if its worthwhile.

just looks like brake dust build up.

dont wash your rims and it saves you having to pay for it to be done

Paint them Black. It will look sinister and make them really easy to keep clean!

My Altezza was silver (Platinum Ice) with Black Speedline rims and I loved it.

IMHO John, repair them and leave the finish colour as is ! you'll see the value of that when or if you sell the car...

Dark grey dosn't suit it, it just makes them look dirty as mentioned by snotty...

Black looks even worse and too boy racer, it's a current trend going ATM, alot of people putting black rims on everything - not a good look, just like the craze of chrome a few years back and just like chrome, it'll date !!!

Otherwise just get yourself a neat set of affordable aftermarkets, there are heaps of choices in 17" or 18" in either hyper silver or shadow chrome, which both look fantastic up against a silver coloured car ;)

I must be trendy because I have had black wheels on my cars for over ten years!! Black and silver does work though.

the wheels from the black MPS on here they look good, but his car is black not silver i guess.

IM with wraith go for some aftermarket ones, and keep the stockers for when u want to sell the car makes it much easier to sell.

hmmm

i'm not sure they suit the car.. but will think about it..

they definitely don't look dirty (when clean) as the finish on the grey is still reflective...

was thinking about it because the tyre repair place near work was repairing a set of Gallardo wheels and I just loved the colour of it.

repairing two wheels will be $200 or so, but to match all four (if i change colour) will be $400.

As for a set of aftermarket wheels.. i personally like the OEM 17s.

Sounds like leaving them as is will be the go...

Those black wheels posted up by TTEETT look good on their own, but mounted up on a car is a different story...you'll have to put a set of whatever you like up against the car and judge for yourself whether or not you like the look of it - at the end of the day ,it's yoyr choice, whatever makes you happy ;)

Now here's a thought...

Give NEWAY wheels a call in Heidelberg.

Repairing them is easy if you have the time... dismount the tyres, prep the facing, and paint away.. do the prep work and they will serve you well. Will cost you 1/2 a litre of paint, or a ferw spraycans of good quality stufff, and a lot of time...doing the following would be more expensive, but, most unique:

Have them painted in a charcoal or graphite colour, in and out...

now get teh facing only of them machined... wont be cheap, but would look amazing.. well in my opinion anyway..

I too had Charcoal rims on my STI.. and it was silver...Looked heaps better than teh factory Gold!

oh, also had charcoal and silver wheels on my 75 Fiat 124 (Momo Vega wheels).. not bad for an alfa factory option in the early 70's...charcoal and silver was around back then too!

I wouldn't mind trying to fix it myself.. but dismounting the tyres and then refitting/balancing the tyres will be a pain the ass especially when you don't have a spare car!

i'll just pay someone to fix it..

got any pics of the STi?

I, too agree that the gold STi rims look kinda tacky.

options options..

Helps that the STI in the images is 50mm lower than standard, has dark windows etc etc..

i think black wheels (In this case charcoal/graphite) looks good on a silver car

I looked at a set of BBS CH rims in black for my car too....

Either these

or these

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t262/aussiegman/bbs_ch_bpsl_ci3_l.jpg

And black/charcoal wheels on white/red/silver/black cars can (read usually) looks awesome...

My STi too had a set of charcoal wheels for racing....

hey hey stop hi-jacking my thread!! haha..

those (metallic) graphite rims on the STi looks heaps better than the metallic gold.

I like it.

as for pure black, I'm not convinced its right for my car, but does look good on others, especially when slammed. But that black BBS with red ring looks hot.

there's no rush to fix mine, its been only about 2 years since they were damaged but I finally found a place that will repair them at a reasonable cost.
