How many F40's

I love Ferrari F40’s, in fact I would give up 3 fingers and two toes for one.. Here are a few of them at the 20 year anniversary Japan chapter.

They are the LM-GT version made to comply with Le Mans GT Homogligation regulations...

The McLaren F1 was the same...The GT-LM and GTR versions were for racing homogligation...

Interesting to note is that the new F430 makes more power out of it 4.3lt V8 than the F40 does out of its 2.936Lt twin IHI-turbo V8!!!!

Absolutely stunning . . . would have been great to be sitting on the sidelines watching that parade go past.

But . . . have you actually seen an F40 up close? Absolutely shocking car to have as a "streeter." You'd want to be already deaf, as the in-cabin insulation is virtually non-existent. Actually, everything we take for granted is virtually non-existent in a genuine F40! And, for a Ferrari, the one I saw at Targa Tassie a few years ago at least, the build quality was terrible. I really expected to see something special and instead ended up being very disappointed . . . other than I can brag about having been up close and personal to an F40.
By the way, the F40 I saw at TT, crashed the following year. Ooops!

Yep..I've been a passenger in one for a quick sprint...Amazing acceleration..You can't beat a low weight, high power & high grip combo...

Your right on the interior. It's seriously, headache inducingly loud!!

Huge turning circle, hard to get into & harder to get out of!!!!!

Basically has race seats and suspension so get to know your chiropractor well...But it is a weapon!! Don't think Ferrari ever really intended as a daily driver however..

Still, the best part for me was the piece of carbon/kevlar cord that you pull downwards to open the door!!!!

$500,000+ (when sold in 1987) and you get a cord to open the door!!!!

At least the McLaren F1 had a Kenwood stereo!!! ;)

And Jay Kay from Jamiroquai had a fellow band member crash his in the middle of Earls Court London a couple of years back....Quote to the paper:

"Oh well, think I'll get a Black one this time!!!"
