View Full Version : Need opinions... Which wheels?

Mitch

Well as I'm startin a new job at the end of this month, I can now afford to start doing mods to my car. The first thing I'm going to do is buy a set of 18 inch chrome wheels/tyres. Now I'm down to three different wheels I like and would like peoples opinions on which would look best on a black 5-door Astra. Here's some photos to show which ones I'm considering.

Thanks

Zenetti Tek's wont fit.

I had them on my city, the monkeys at tempe tyres hammered my anti vibration brake clips and put spacers on to put them on.

needless to say, when I found out, I rounded up 3 of the ugliest meanest blokes I know, went back to tempe, and asked for a refund and everything fixed using oem parts.

OH, and the tempe website isnt the only wheel outlet out there!!! Try ozzy!

hehe, that would mean, me and you, chromies, black astra city. we could start a subgroup!

BUY MY OLD WHEELS 8)

Vault snipers wouldn't suit the car!

Yeah I just used there pics to post up here, from the stories I've heard, I won't be buying the wheels from there.

I checked out the Ozzy Tyres website, I like Alexia Jeslalt II's but ... well ya can guess why I didn't choose them. I also like Alba Impulse but they don't come in 18 inch.

go for the alexia Mondo's in a 20inch fitment

18's though in the mondo's would look awesome... nice design, not too daring like the vaults, chrome, but a contemporary sprty design.

BLING BLING - Come on man don't do the CHROMIES-HOMIES look! Every P-Leb with either a crappy Gemini or Corolla has them. Dude you need to have a bit more class.

Go for something like Lenso RS5 in 18"/Rimstar (English rims) - Deep-dish baby! Euro look man! 8)

lenso rs5's

my neighbours dog just bought them, COMMON! :D

jokes!

In all seriousness, I have 3 cars in my street with lenso concept 5's. + davide, and corsaboy have them on their cars, so it's not exactly that fresh of an idea.

IMO, no use buying rims that look like slightly modified oe rims.

last time i checked i wasn't a leb?

I guess it's your own choice of choosing your own wheels, but last time I checked every man and his dog has chromies. I prefer not to attract unwanted attention, especially from the police. That's all.

It doesn't really bother me if the wheels are common. The ones I posted are are definately a popular wheel and are seen everywhere. I'm still looking at the moment so I might see something I like that isn't very popular. :?

Why don't you Astra guys get european deep dish rims like the ones for Mercs and BMWs. They look very classy, yet I have not seen them on Astras before. Maybe from Lowenhart or something.

HP design for sure!

If not that, then Zenetti Tek.

btw, Zenetti Tek SHOULD fit since FYN35T has them in 19"s on her black Astra.

Also expensive
I'd love to get EV-R's in 19in but the RRP is $706 per corner, no rubber of course.

HT-3s are only $450rrp per corner for 17in though

mixmelb

Yeah, that's the problem. Mille Miglia are not cheap :( But they look awesome!!

HP Design,

Here in Taree there are a fair few cars with chromies and they look like tossers to be honest. Go with a wheel that has a gun-metal finish and european, not looking like RICE.

Cheers

Here in Sydney, some people don't give a shat about what other people think and get what they like 8)

Mitch, get yourself a 5 stud conversion and buy some CD rims, lol. I reckon they look fantastic! (have them polished up)

Í still reckon you should go for the wheels from ozzy though.

I'm loving them more and more everytime I look at the photo of them. lol

I'd say that will be what I'll end up buying, but now I have to wait to start my new job as I don't have the money at the moment . So sometime next month I should have them.

As for silver/light-weight rims, not on this car. It's not a performance car so I'll just get some heavy chrome rims. :P j/k

CD wheels come in four and five stud, depends on if you have abs or not

to be specific, the cdx model.

and the rims that I refer to only come in 5 stud.

Mitch, excellent choice!

I was going to go for some lightweight gold racing hart's with a huge dish, but it just wasn't worth it. As you said, the 1.8l's are not performance cars AT ALL, no matter which way you approach the matter.

If you can't go fast, then at least look good. 8)

I just seen a few more rims that i like.

I'm going to get the suspension done and the new exhaust before i buy rims so i got a few mores weeks to decide.
