Hi All,

I think the battery in the key for my '01 Corsa is dead (no LED when pressing buttons, won't remote lock/unlock doors), but I can't for the life of me figure out how the hell to open up the key to get at the battery!!

Any help for this would be appreciated as I'd prefer not to go to Holden for something so minor.

Cheers,
Chris

i think you just flex or bend it pretty hard... could be wrong though so dont do this before others confirm

It slides out, if you have a look on eBay you will see that our generation remotes come in two pieces. The actual metal key is separate to the remote body. Link below will make it clearer. obviously this picture is with the remote part removed.

If you look on the back of the remote you will see a little notch above the Siemens writing. You need a small flat head screwdriver and you leaver up towards the metal key part, it then just slides off. Hope that helps and makes some sense. If you look at the pic in the above link it hopefully will.

This is what it will look like once you remove it.

Guide for doing this on the Corsa-C.co.uk forum, below.

Not sure how true the remote loosing its memory thing they talk about is?

Thanks guys - as they say, if all else fails RTFM and after doing so it sort of shows how to go about it.

I should be able to figure it out and now I know that it takes a good old watch battery I know it's a cheap job too!
