I stumbled upon the Gm general website yesterday, aparently there is a saturb ion which is basically the 2.0 block running a supercharger on it. Produces around 156kw or something like that. The Ion Quad Coupe from saturn. Recaro seats, full bodykit, sports suspension.

2.0L supercharged and intercooled version of the Ecotec 4cylender
5 speed manual with close ratio gearing and short throw shifter
High flow exhaust and induction system
4 wheels disc brakes (ABS)
Racetrack suspension revised springs shocks bushings and stabilizer bars
17 x7 5 spoke alloy wheels
10mm lower ride
Recaro seats and momo steering wheel
Air to water intercooler
Uses the eaton helica supercharger 12 pounds of boost
200Hp and 200nm of torque

umm there are heaps on the net, do a search on Saturn Ion Redline and you will see heaps. This thing would eat the astra for lunch.

150kw is 200hp, and i think this is at the wheels also.

So iam guessing around 170 - 190kw at the engine. Iam not sure if its a rear wheel drive, iam pretty sure it isn't though. They look damn sexy too, enterior looks like the R32 golfs! :mrgreen:

I'd like to know why we don't get the VXR220 over here!!

For those of you who haven't seen it, it's based on the lotus elise chasis with the Astra SRI-T engine, still 147 KW, pulls 250 lb torque at 1950rpm and does 0 - 100 in 4.7secs.

they call it the affordable supercar.

Is that engine the LSJ? Gaz sent me some info on it last year when it was launched. Made in Leverkusen (I think) for the US market only.

I read in a car magazine (so I don't know if this is true or not but) they shipped one over to Australia to take a look. The Managing director of Holden took it out for a spin and had an accident with a truck. The truck driver claimed he didn't see him. The MD decided on the spot that the car wasn't right for Australia.

Friend of mine just bought a lotus elise - goes wicked fast, bit like driving a go cart. Would love to see the VXR 220 come out here 4.7 0-100 would suit me right down tot he ground!! :lol:
