Interesting, I listened to all 4 soundtracks, I assume the last one is the jet sounding one ?? not to take anything away from it, but to me the jet sound is from the rush of wind and road tyre noise the cars causing, not the engine ??

The 1st 3 sound recordings sound like an angry semi trailer LOL :D

hahahaha yeahh true doesn't sound like much in the first 3 :D

It's either the wind or the bloody engine sucking air....I don't think it could be that quite! hahahah

If it's engine induction noise, that's an awesome note....but I still think it's from the rush of air around the car :)

IMO It's sounds bloody horrible. Like an engine with a semi-busted timing belt

Is not about the sound guys, but about performance. Diesels are deceivingly quiet when in full action, unlike so many petrol show offs. How many times do you see some dick head with a broken exhaust, hardly moving off the lights, but making more noise than a F1 Ferrari? This V12 engine is good enough for a 4.2 seconds 0-100km/h and 1,000 Nm from 1,750 rpm! Sure, there's Diesel clatter when idle, but in full swing is dead quiet. Lack of engine screaming makes it any slower you reckon?

We should all get use to silent engines. If either hydrogen or electric is the future, well, the era of stupid mufflers for sound's sake is finally over. I for one, can't wait for that to happen. :)

I big appeal to me with cars is the sound they make. Don't think anyone was suggesting that lack of engine noise was making it slower... Just saying we'd much prefer to have a performance car that sounded like a performance car. And that Audi V8 is bliss...
And as for the Hyrdrogen car spelling the end for mufflers... not so, if you look at a setup like the Hyrdogen7.

Totally agree, as mentioned numerous times, no automotive engine on Earth sounds better than a good V8 :)

As for the GT-R it has a stunning engine note also (as do many V6's) - there's a couple of sound clips in the GT-R thread, one of the outside exhaust note, the other of the jet like whines from in the drivers seat, hair at the back of your neck raising stuff :)
