There is a Shortage of 98 RON fuel in Sydney. i found some on the M4 Caltex East bound. thats the only place between Narellan and Blacktown i could find it at.

as for caltexes, everyone i have seen has had vortex in the tanks

mobile 8000 is the same stuff as ultimate i believe...

rare to get it too but my car runs the same on ultimate and 8000 .. had to use vortex 98 and its crap...

Pretty much a refinery issue has bodged up Shells VPOWER production, and with a new PULP fuel replacing VPOWER soon.

I believe that VPOWER should be back in supply within a fortnight as Canberra is starting to get some VPOWER in apparentely.

BP Ultimate in the meantime has run totally dry due to increased dependency on it (due to lack of VPOWER).

Caltex and Mobil still have plenty of PULP at the moment.

As a sidenote, I've heard of a few service stations at the moment doing a dodgy. They claim they are out of normal unleaded, forcing the customer to use 95 or 98 (PULP) at a higher price.

Of course for us in cars that like/need 95/98 this means even less chance to get it.

I know that in SA (south africa) a few of the drag tracks were shared with airport run ways. Small domestic airports where only light planes land.

But anyway we were able to fill up with AVgas straight from the aeroplane
pumps!

Yeah the BP on Parry St is selling Mobil 8000 as their 98. At least they let you know they're selling someone else's product and still making money out of it :confused:

Didn't have much choice when I had 2kms of fuel left and I don't mind the Mobil stuff.

i brought some 95 today, im finding it gives me more k's.... Actually I found that the other day too with Vortex 95. 95.2 to be precise.

The newer Astras quoted power figures are quoted running on 95, so the cars obviously like it.

Still I prefer 98 though, it's a bit snappier.

Still no sign of VPOWER in North West Sydney and Inner North West Sydney.

I believe that Shell have a new PULP fuel that will be superseeding VPOWER in the works. The only thing I can think, is that they are waitting for that to hit the market, rather than trying to bring VPOWER back.

Our memo we have at work states the Clyde refinery is undergoing a major refurb, expect another 3 months for V-power to return.

yeh thats what they said back in january, when they first announced the refinery was being shutdown earlier than expected.
