Went to the Motorshow tonight after work and it's the best one for a couple of years by far. A lot more new models to check out. But the absolute show stopper was the Coupe 60 from Holden along with the HSV W427 370kw 7 Litre monster. The GT-R looked great too. Surprisingly the Veyron was a bit underwhelming in the flesh.

Nice pics Mat, saves me having to do it :)

My God, that Coupe concept is stunning........

And wrapped to see the Toyota concept is also there !!!!

The GT-R finally in the flesh........no pics of new Evo or Sti ??

I was also shocked by how good that Hyundai looks - wow.....and it's a V8 too !

Can't wait to go there tomorrow, I think I'll be there all day drooling and exploding my pants all over the place :o :D

No pics of the Evo or STi, didn't really take me at all. Especially the Evo, I was expecting more from it. I walked straight past it at first looking for it. Gonna jet back in there Monday night after work seeing i'm already up there, to take some photos with the DLSR.

Ok then I was actually taken by the Ralliart Lancer, I honestly believe this car is going to be a big success, it looks almost the same as the full Evo, gets a MIVEC with 175kw, should be no probs getting it well over 200kw and gets the AWD set up from the Evo 9, nice grey 18's and nice clear tail lights, instead of the redish tinted ones on the full Evo, all for low to mid 40's.....some pics

And some more pics from the show....
F430

F430 Vert aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh
http://i31.tinypic.com/5tujp1.jpg

Gallardo Vert, even in lime green it looks HOT  I'd love to have one of those...
http://i28.tinypic.com/2us7e5g.jpg

I took loads of pics of the new Sti, they just don't do it justice, the car looks heaps better in real life.....I love it even more now, maybe I've found my next everyday ride....
http://i25.tinypic.com/6rt4ps.jpg

No not a Mazda, but a Holden small scale concept !!! one of 3 different ones on display...looks very Japanese and a bit weird...
http://i29.tinypic.com/dgknqq.jpg

I took loads of pics of the G60 Coupe, but we've seen heaps, so I'll only put up a couple....1st one shows the massive o/a size of the front 6 pot callipers, I've never seen a set so big, they're like the racing ones used on the V8 supercars....IMO according to my observations, there'll be ALOT from this concept that will not make it to production, pity as it's going to be watered down quite a bit taking alot of the attraction away :(
http://i30.tinypic.com/1z5i7ux.jpg

And this, not sure howmany people noticed this little badge on the bottom front sill....Diesel fans rejoice....
http://i27.tinypic.com/2ci8oxs.jpg

As you would expect, the most interest for me was the GT-R and I took about 40 pics just of that car, but I'll put a couple up....
It looks awesome in real life, just like what I'd heard described of it in so many reports, bold beautiful weapon, is about it.......front end looks the business in the metal unlike pics.....love it and loved the Nissan commentry on the car too, very funny some of it :D

"Depending on who you are, the GT-R has either run the quickest or the 2nd quickest time ever for a production car at the Nurburgring.
It is in dipute by Porshe owners, who say it's not true, but these 911 owners probably have pony tails and sell real estate" hahahaha LOL :D
"Rest assured the GT-R is set the blitz the ring again and we at Nissan have no doubt on the outcome"

Oh and they mentioned the Aust. pricing - 150k :)

Thanks Mat, the pictures look amazing.. Im wishing I was off to Melbourne this week.

I did the same when I saw the Evo-X last year at Big Boys Toys here in Auckland, I did a full loop of the hall looking for it (I had had a couple of beers :p ) and when I finally found it I felt disappointed at how unaggressive it looks in the flesh. The STI Looks good with those wheels and silver.

Nice one

Nice pics mate.

Don't take too much notice of the Holden badges on that scale model concept. It's not a Holden vehicle, just a concept designed by a university student. :) Look at the name... explains why it looks Japanese.

And the biofuel badge on the Coupe 60 just referred to the 85% Ethanol blend.

I actually didnt mind the Veyron, maybe just like a blockbuster movie, too much hype.

LOL, that's alright Simon, I headed over to the Mitsubishi stand after taking pics of the Nissan Micra :o as ordered by the missus :o

Spent quite some time there and then off to the Sube stand, so I figured I'd well and truly lost and not be able to find you guys again in that ever increasing crowd, was fun to hang out with you guys...man it started getting really packed as I was leaving, I struggled to get out of the place...

Appologies for the random explosions, I think I exploded my pants no fewer than 53 times :o but this was one great car show and thanks for the pic plug above LOL :)

I heard about that new cupholder, but forgot to look. I guess that cutout is for something with a handle?? The SRi Turbo has another new grille. Similar design to the MY7.5 i think, but thicker horizontal and vertical slats. Looks more integrated between the two now. Also noticed the stereo now has a sound position for 'driver', which mine doesn't have. That's all I could really see quickly.

You need to buy a Holden mug that will fit that perfectly. :p As for the grille's they are all eggcrates, not sold on them though. As for the stereo, they should of at least made it MP3 capatible.
