HEY DC what phone did you use...its nice to see that some of those cars are aussie owned too

Phone is a Nokia N95 takes ok pics if the lighting is good otherwise it struggles.

Most of the cars were privately owned and on loan for the display.

I'll have the Zonda and that sexy orange Lambo Gallardo vert :D

The Zonda was the most impressive in the metal for sure.

A little off topic I know . . . but . . . what is the fascination this country has with Muddly Talker??? I really don't understand it. He's even older than me, can't commentate on motor racing to save himself, and when he does he gets sooooo excited about the most inane things happening on or off the track (and quite often it's nothing to do with the action that's on the screen at the time), and has a voice that really, really grates on my nerves. His only saving grace is, as I suggested, this country (and others no doubt) think he is THE ONE to have at any motoring event. Oh . . . and he get's paid bucket loads for the honor. I really don't understand.

That just about covers my bitch session on this one . . . now back to the rather mundane, can't be driven on any roads in Australia at anywhere near the speeds they were designed to, expensive pieces of motoring ego trip pieces of mechanical finery.

LOL Ian, your never too old to enjoy cars, in fact for most of us, we'll be older when we actually get to have/afford what we always wanted :)

As for using/driving them the way they were intended to be driven/used, there's always a right time and place for it.....either way I'd still own one, if not just for the sheer joy and excitment for a car enthusiast like us, that comes with owning such a vehicle :)

The Zonda was the most impressive in the metal for sure.

I can believe that....

When I 1st viewed your pics, the most outstanding in my eyes was infact that yellow Zonda, that's why I immediately picked it along with one of my all time favs. the Gallardo in my choices post :)

Quite right Wraith . . . my grizzle wasn't about the cars as such, just the advertising blurb of "Murray Walker's Extreme Machines." I may be wrong, but I'm sure that none of those cars actually have any connection to Muddly Talker. I just don't understand the fascination with this bloke! Sure, he is very knowledgeable in all facets of motor sport and motoring in general, I just think there are plenty of better, much better, commentators of OUR motoring pasttimes right here in this country.
I had the fortune(?) of getting up close to him, albeit very briefly, in Tasmania a few years ago when he was "the start attraction" at Targa Tasmania. The guy did nothing to promote it other than what he was paid to do. Peter Brock on the other hand was only too eager to chat with anyone and everyone about anything to do with any for of the sport.

Again, I don't understand our motor sport promoters' interest in him, or what interest he has in our motor sports other than they are quite prepared, obviously, to throw lots of money and concessions his way to have him as our "star attraction." I'd be interested to hear if anyone was excited to have him call another one of OUR races.

zonda for me......but its pretty good how the 250k audi keeps up with the others.

Also(a litle off topic) Muzza has some great gaffs :

He's obviously gone in for a wheel change. I say obviously because I can't see it"

"With half the race gone, there is half the race still to go"
"Do my eyes deceive me, or is Senna's Lotus sounding rough ?"
"Anything happens in Grand Prix racing and it usually does"
"Alboreto has dropped back up to fifth place"
"As you look at the first four, the significant thing is that Alboreto is 5th"
"I can't imagine what kind of problem Senna has. I imagine it must be some sort of grip problem"
"He is shedding buckets of adrenalin in that car"
"It's raining and the track is wet"
"And there's just a few more corners for Nigel Mansell to go to win the Canadian Grand Prix...and...he's going rather slow....HE'S STOPPING HE'S STOPPING!" "and this is the third placed car about to lap the second placed car"

That's the superleggara i spotted a little while back. Looks amazing in the flesh :D
Notice how we only have the older models though...Koeniggsegg CCR (not CCX) and the Zonda S (not F)
Just something i had noticed :)

And then of course, these "Extreme Machines" bend and break just like REAL cars.

Check it out: http://aussieexotics.com/2008/02/24/koenigsegg-ccr-crash-at-clipsal-500-adelaide-australia

I wasn't even aware this happened. The Press kept this one very quiet. Oooopppsss! Sorry boss!

Yeh, just disregard the Mudly Talker LOL :)

To tell you the truth, I didn't even think about him at all in this thread, my mind and attention went straight to the cars... :)

BTW nice link above, thanks for sharing :)
