Fujitsu Series V8 Supercar driver Ashley Cooper is in a critical condition after a massive hit at Adeliade yesterday. He suffered severe internal injuries and severe head trauma. Hopefully he pulls through.

This accident is another reason why that corner should be slowed down, every year there is a fw big crashes there and a serious injury was inevitable, something the V8 supercar people need to look at!!!

All the best for Ashley Cooper, hope he gets through it all, has 2 young children!!

RIP. Unfortunate risk of motorsport. But as said above, at least it was doing what he loved.

Terribly sad news.
Maybe they should do as Dick Johnson said and not run the quite so experienced development series round a track with such severe circumstances if a mistake is made.

RIP Ash Cooper.
unfortunatly the risk of the sport, easy to say not to run the less experienced driver's but how do you then determine that, and whats there compensation for missing a championship round.

True, it's a fine line, just gotta hope these tragedies are few and far between.

It doesn`t say a lot about that bend when V8SA decides to mount a camera on the wall and call it `crashcam`.
Very sad indeed.
