g'day everyone. I'm so happy I found this site its already solved a couple quearies I'v had.
I'm not much of an internet forum person or a car expert but I like to try and do things myself, and I would one day like to call myself a home mechanic.

in reply to some quearies, I found this site when looking for some astra parts I think, or asking "how to" astra on yahoo,
anyway, after following some "how to" advice and links off this site I still got the mechanic to service the car.
seeing the bill I realised I could have done the whole job myself (eventually), and saved heaps.
but then inevitably the mechanic makes that dreaded call saying I need a new water pump and timing kit extra $650 quoted
I told him not to worry and want to attempt to do this myself.
I will now post a "how to" in the "how to"
section.
by the way all the members seem like great and helpful people which is a eral credit to this site.
