M5 is very F1 sounding, considering the V10 was originally designed to be used in F1. Just sounds like a short shifting F1 car.

It does sound like a F1 engine back when they were V10, but nothing beats a V8 IMHO - best sound I've heard from a F430 was when Top Gear tested it - the bit where they are caning it down the straight and the camera is fairly far away from it - that noise!!! friggin gave me goosebumps!

Don't know if you've seen the Good the Bad and the Ugly by Jeremy Clarkson but it's an amazing video lol, just rips into americans.
He does a segment on how different V8 notes are from different countries.
A roush mustang vs a ferrari (can't remember which)..and the difference is incredible.:D
The ferrari is almost good enough to require a change of pants...

When it comes to automotive engine note/sound, nothing on Earth sounds better than a good V8 !!!!!! :D

Mind you the sound from the F430's V8 is fantastic, but IMHO the simpler staggered firing order old school V8's sound even better, hair at the back of your neck raising stuff, any of you been next to a fully worked big block 454 revving out ?? or how about at the drags near a 4000HP blown dragster ?? aaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh :drool: :drool: :drool:
