WHAT AN AWESOME MACHINE!!!!!!!

however, in comparison with the calibra, it was kind of a let down..

performance was good, but not as quick as i was expecting. granted it is almost 40kw down on the calibra's power:o

handling was really good, i was very impressed booting it in the corners, but still felt a bit too high:o again, because my ass is almost on the tar in the cali..

but now i am really confused. because as much as i love the VXR (OPC) i think i love my cali a bit too much to let it go:o

i can afford to have both, but unfortunately i dont think our house can accomodate for 5 cars..lol..

and with the wife hopefully arriving in the next few months, she will need a car. although i dont know how comfortable i would be with her in either the cali or the vxr.

btw, its a 2007 Arden Blue demo with 1680km on the clock for $42,990 drive away,

cali is going onto 180k soon, and i would really like something under warranty, etc. but i just cant part with the cali.. they would only give me 4500 trade , so that aint gonna happen anyway.

confused...

the vxr is a great car, i drove 1, when they firstly were released, not as impressed as i thought i would be, the g sri-t tuned has more power n yer and my comparison is that the g sri-t is better value than the vxr, still both great cars, good luck with ur decision.

Good luck Ashley with your decision.... sort of similar to mine with the Veccy..... cannot simply justify an upgrade for the money.

But I am more interested in "the wife" comment..... when you left you had a girlfriend???? If this is the case..... congratulations mate

well, going on to 4 years. can be termed as "the wife" :p

but, it seems that that is the route we are going to have to take to get her in to aus, unless someone sponsors her a work visa sometime soon :(

That's a good price, spend the change on mods ;)

Few low km S/H here for under 40k.....

BTW you have a similar problem to me, ie: running out of space for cars LOL :)

Holy moly! That price should come down a bit especially for a demo!!!

Ash they are great cars! I love the VXR. Comfortable city car with balls when needed!

However the Pricks at Holden actually proved to me that they are pricks!

And thats why i went to mazda!

This is so true unfortunately, those bastards.....I missed out on a VZ CV8Z Monaro because of a bunch of pricks at a certain Holden dealership in 2005 :(

Luckily they're not like that at ALL the GMH outlets......

barely hitting 1000miles on the clock so not even near opened up yet, get it up to about 10,000 hard miles and you will see a nice improvement, secondly the dealers do themselves no favours with VXR demos as most fill up with regular unleaded and the ecu backs off the power.

I think the VXR is a great car...outside...but the inside was a let down for me.

I test drove it and found it to be rather fast and handled quite well.

I know the experience with GM stealerships...but then..I had the same problems with Ford...when trying to purchase a EO XR5.

In the end...Mazda did the better deal and gave awesome service...so it was easy to choose which one I took.

Now...im happy and wouldnt look back...best of both worlds...power and sleeper looks.

Whatever you choose...enjoy your purchase.

Happy Motoring

Definitely a hard choice between these 2, that's for sure.....

Good friend of mine has an MPS 3, been in it heaps, also test driven a VXR, hard to walk away from the looks and finesse of the VXR, hard to walk away from the power/performance and kit of the MPS 3......

And then of course, depending which dealer/brand gives you the better deal, unless you buy s/h or near new :)

True Nik, they look almost the same, the main difference (speaking for myself anyways) is the cost....

Despite the extra AWD kit, when you get into the price bracket of an MPS 6, I'd rather add a little more and get a far superior Evo or Sti ;)

interior is completely different.. the shape of the car is different..

it's like saying a 2 door corsa is exactly the same as a 2 door astra..

awd as a bonus is pretty darn neat tho..

Sorry not sure what you mean about the above ?? New Sti is fully loaded with features and airbags... :)

I'd have an MPS 3 out of all the current Mazdas, but if I couldn't get one of those, I wouldn't settle for just a neo, it'd have to be the fully loaded SP23 in response to what BTM and 182 stated :)

Not sure ??? maybe previous models ??? - we'll have to get Entice or other previous Sti owners to answer that one :)

What I do know is that both the new Sti and Evo are very well featured (especially the Sti) with creature comforts and have the full whack of front, side and curtain airbags and leather options too :)

They're competing on a broader market spectrum now, especially in Europe, so they have to have all of those things :)
