turns out not the water pump, but just and idler pully/wheel...just as bad and gonna cost the same to fix :P ....sigh.

edit: since it was supposedly replaced only 4000km ago, and less than 6 months ago, after a short very old testament phonecall, they want me to bring it in, they will fix, and we can argue about cost later.
