No, it does 8.6 l/100km. That should give it the 1,000 km range.
0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds
Maximum speed just over 300 km/h
373 kW (500 HP) and, wait for it, 1,000 Nm at 1,750 rpm

I want one. Promise I won't use any tuning boxes on it, nor remapping :)

Power/economy is fantastic !!! no question...love it :)

Performance however could be a little better, if I had one, I'd mod it until it could do 0-100km/h in 3.5sec at least, otherwise your basic re-mapped Evo's and Sti's will eat you up at the lights LOL :)

And if a GT-R rolled up next to me, I'd put my indicator on to turn, to avoid any embarassment :o

Incredible looking car from all angles I think, Audi have outdone themselves with this one.

Just one question: How do you think it would sound compared to that fantastic V10 they will soon put in?

And if a GT-R rolled up next to me, I'd put my indicator on to turn, to avoid any embarassment :o

There will be a lot of so called super cars doing that anyway in the coming months at GT-Rs spread across the globe.

i like the look of this one better... but sorry just can't go past the petrol version.

i dont think fuel economy matters much when you have the $$$ for one of these :D

Good question, would have to hear one of these diesels in action first, to make a comparison - hopefully they've found a way to clear up the trade mark black plume created by diesels when pushing them hard, otherwise that would be a turn off for alot of people :(

I also think the petrol V10 will be quicker, all depends if you want it as a daily drive or weekend beast as to engine choice I suppose, oh and cost.....

As for GT-R's causing ripples in the supercar World, it's already begun, there are vids out already LOL, most prominent is a Ferrari Modena getting it's doors blown off :D

When the dust settles and all variants of the new GT-R are out, I believe only the Veyron's 0-100km/h in 2.7sec will be any competition... :)

No smoke behind this one. The engine is built to comply with a standard that is going to be enforced in 2014. It is actually much cleaner than most of today's engines. Combine the lack of smoke with the low CO2 emissions and you have the greenest super car engine right there!

Noise wise, the problem is that is too quiet, if anything. Listen to a pretty similar engine here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChGGWY_CwO0&feature=related) If you ask me, that's fabulous, so much understated grunt , just like a muted jet engine! Here's another footage. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=le0YDuGwq2k&feature=related)

I'd rather hear (or not) that sort of sound from my engine. But then that's me, I love Rammstein more than the 3 tennors :D

GOD!

For once Ange, I think I'm with you on this one! Got the misses looking over my shoulder and even she likes it!

Had a chance to get up close and personal with a stock standard R8 at the SA Sporting Car Club's Climb to the Eagle recently, and can confirm that they are an exciting motor car. Even looked pretty good up against the new Aston Martin Vantage that was alongside it!

But this one is just a little bit more specialer, me thinks!

Sexy, fast and good on fuel!!!!

I'm glad even expensive exotics are becoming somewhat frugal too, just because you can afford the car, doesn't mean you have to have rediculous fuel consumption!!!!

if that 0-100 time is for real am i the only one thinks it's shite?

And by shite i don't just mean tottally unimpressive i mean, the car would be a waste of time and effort building it Seeing as the current r8 does it in only a couple hundreths more?

Impressive as a technical excercise, a bit pointless forking out the extra cash to put one in your garage though

Call me old fashioned, i like my expensive "never really going to actually own one" to be properly quick on paper.

nice looking car....id like to see the safety rating on for the front of the car.
does look like theres much of a bumper at the front....its all just hollow.

Totally agree - and not just on paper, but in actual fact too !!! :)

With a car like that on the street, which would attract so much attention, you'd definitely want it to be as quick/fast as it looks and not get put to shame (which you would) by some S/H riced up 20k Sube or Mitsu....

That's why I've mentioned I'd opt for the V10 petrol version, I'm sure it'll probably come in the same body styling and interior :)

AND pocket enough change to buy a 2nd GT-R !!!!! or a house and garage to put it in :D

The GT-R sure does put ALL other supercars into perspective in terms of performance and cost ;)

all i can say is that yes, i'd defiantly prefer to have the supermodel to look at every day.

However if i was getting into a fight, i'd certainly prefer a smacked up on PCP hobo in my corner then a supermodel, one can't feel any pain and the other will loose tens of thousands of $ if they get so much as a scratch on their pretty little face

In all honesty I'd love one (a V10) with that body styling of the V12 TDI :)
