Noobie questions

Hi Guys,
I just joined Opelaus last night.
This is great stuff guys.
I'm looking to get an Astra CDTI manual soon and I'm really keen to hear from those that have them, what you think of them.
What,if any are the downsides and what's the reliability like?
What are the best chipping solutions and why? I'm a bit nervous putting these on with a brand new car. Should I wait for a while?

hey muzzer,

welcome to OA, CDTi's are a great car and even better on fuel, theres a number of members on here with this car and some even have theirs 'chipped' which gets you about 150kw and 400nm which is pretty good.

do a search on the forum... plenty on it.

ps.dont forget the oil burners section.

Glad to see you found your way here.
As has already been said make sure to check out the Astra Diesel Section of the forum, tells you all about the greenbox and the guys there will be more than willing to answer all your questions...
Also don't forget to join the Victorian section :D

only downsides i can see is that it sounds like a small truck...and smokes like a small truck :D...


other than that, they go very well, are economical, look good, priced well etc etc. :)
