Fuel Economy Comparison

I just wanna know what kind of fuel economy you guys get with your corsas. Im just curious to compare my car with others.

Please post your consumption, along with what car you drive and what petrol you use.

Here's my car:
1.4L Corsa C: 8.69L/100Km

That was my last tank of fuel on BP Ultimate

well I don't drive a Corsa, but I'll post mine up anyway.

Astra City Hatch: generally I average around 8L/100km...sometimes a bit over, sometimes in the high 7's. When I went driving in the country I got about 7.3!

well normal fuel, city driving, im lucky if i get 350Km out of about 50-60litres.. driving pretty agressively!

Highway driving i can gt 500Kms+ out of 50-60litres!

my Corsa (1.4) has an overall fuel fuel efficiency of 8.13L/100km, with a minimum of 6.9L/100km and a max of 9.1L/100km

(i love excel :))

I usually fill her with regular unleaded - either BP or "Freedom Fuels".

My vectra averages 10.1/100km.

my 2.2 astra averaged 6.6L/100k coming back from qld.... Thats with hard driving involved! Otherwise, normally between 8-9L/100k's for city driving about 12/100 when driving harder :) Always on ultimate!

Hmm ok, so i guess im roughly average. Phew, i thought something was wrong with my car because i was expecting about 7.5L/100Km.

I'm gonna start a spreadsheet, to monitor my fuel consumption.
I'll drive more conservatively this week and see how it goes.

I get city - 9.2, on highway down below 7

I don't know how leadfooted you are but my 1.8L Barina has a pretty consistent 7.3 to 7.5 economy, on BP Ultimate.

This is mainly light suburban driving, air con almost never on, and I never give it a thrashing.

I dunno what this works out to in L/Km, But last big Run I did in 2.2 SRi. I got 725kms of out a Full Tank with just under quarter Left.
I thought that pretty Nice, Considering its Old Brother used to 50kms to a 50l Tank :lol:

I drive about 200ks/day and average 7.6l/100km.
Drive back from QLD entire average was 6.9l/100km
Best i have seen was syd->wagga 6.2l/100km

The last cruise day was 8.1l/100km and i drive it hard :p

The fuel economy was HEAPS better after the first ECU upgrade...the pod reduced the fuel consumption as well it seems...

....AirCo doesnt make a difference to me as far as i can tell, although i tend to be lighter on the throttle with the extra load...

....having the stereo on throughout an entire trip seems to increase consumption (expect this when i am averaging 60amps...) the alternator works hard...

mine is fairly high compared to other corsas because i only drive small trips, not usually more than 20km per trip during the week. I am also a little leadfooted sometimes :oops:

2.2 Vectra - Average 8.7-9.0 L/100km/h in stop start peak hour traffic 5 days a week. On normal ULP.

If it's one thing I love about my car - it's the fuel consumption.

Pretty chuffed with my Veccy V6 guys. Hard driving returns 9.9L/100km...... Motorway driving at average of 120kmh returns 6.5L/100km.....onboard comp is sitting at an average consumption of 7.6L/100km (mainly short trips into town)

Is that how your consumption is shown on your MIDs?........Just gave myself a headache working the equivalents because ours is shown in miles per gallon and gallons per hour on tickover :screwy:

Yeah, ours shows litres/hour below 13km/h and then switches to L/100km as you go faster.

Interesting note on my consumption which has never happened before. Filled up with Optimax late last week - my fuel consumption has dropped to 8.4L/100km - same drive into the city in traffic, driving style the same.

I have never seen such a difference with Optimax before... :?

Yeah, i was getting low 9's before i changed to BP Ultimate. Now i get mid-high 8's, thats short trips and a fairly aggressive style.
