Big upgrade for the Opel KadettGSi for '08

I fly to Melb in the morning to drive back a '92 Calibra with a C20XE to bolt into the rally car...

This maybe good news and maybe cheap parts for anyone who needs bits as I will just take the motor drive shafts rear brakes and front struts as spares for the car.

But even bigger I have purchased a F28 6speed box which will get the 2wd conversion and later mate up with the XE.

I'll post when the Cali is ready to pick to peices and I will sell parts cheap as I have no need... be good to recover a few costs but I am as happy as pig in shit at the moment so someone may get a bargain.

Intend on using different diff ratio.

The box has a 3.72 diff so at 7000rpm in 6th you could do 277km/h with 195x50x15 tyres.

If you put in a 4.8 diff at 7000rpm in 6th you would be doing 214 km/h with the same tyres (44km/h in first and the rest close).

With my 5 speed with a 4.8 diff I am only doing about 140 or 150 km/h on the same tyre... good for the hill climb and auto cross but no good for tarmac rally or QLD raceway.

Ok have returned triumphant... I have a '92 Red Cali with a C20XE in her and a F28 box in the boot.

So once xmass is out of the way I shall strip the old girl and offer up the leftovers to all you Cali drivers to bid on... what is not taken will be going to the tip.

I will take pics and post full specs of what she has and what I know works... a few people have already put dibs on a few bits and this will be noted on the post.

The Kadett 8v engine may at one time be sold but I already have a few people putting dibs on it. The F16 Quaife/Hewland race box with Quaife ATB is worth about $8K and it will remain my rally box for dirt events.

Ok Xmass is over and the tree is down.

I am hoping to remove the motor and gearbox from the Calibra this weekend.

I will give a list of what is good and what is bad and pics. I few people have already asked for dibs on parts and this will be on the list and that have first refusal.

I am not going to try and make money out of this venture but I would like to recoope some of my costs... but saying that I don't want anyone going away empty handed.

Things I know that do work.

Sunroof works and is in good condition.
Central locking all works with the key... remote no but could be battery.
Has an alram and although doesn't make sound the blinkers do flash.
Electric mirrors work and buttons.
Electric windws work and buttons.
Airconditioner seems to be complete but doesn't turn on (but someone has removed the Cd player and there is a mess of wires near the aicon controls).

All trim is there in reasonable condition including seats and carpets
Rear hatch is in good condition and bonnet is good Rest of panels have bumps and marks. Colour is red.

Lights and indicators are good. One headlight maybe out I'll check.

What is not going up for sale

Motor inc starter ,alternator and bits to make the motor go... all other bits hanging off can go eg aircon and steeringpump.
F20 Gearbox I will keep this for a while I may sell it later... I do have a spare F16 box if that is wanted by someone.
Drive shafts will be kept... I do have other spare drive shafts if anyone is desperate.
Front struts Bottom and Hub only. Shocks and springs and top hat is available
Rear Brakes. I do have other rear calipers and disc available.
Steering rack. Steering pump is available
Wheels
Gear shifter from nob to box.
Extractors rest of the system is available.
