That was the one off in the Fujitsu Series. Big off. Straight off the end of the main straight into turn 1, came back halfway down the straight after turn 2!

Burnouts to come... no flashing chicks though sorry. lol

There were chicks, heaps of them, but Mat refused to have his picture taken with them!!!

Not rumours, now fact, Todd Kelly officially announced his departure from HRT and is going to Perkins Eng (Jack Daniels racing)!!! Garth Tander will be taking his vacant spot at HRT!!!

Seems like a few years ago when Lowndes got the championship then got demoted to 2nd driver behind Skaife at HRT, hope Tander isn't treated like a 2nd driver next year!!!

I believe the shift to HRT for GT is to bring Team Red Back to the front of the pack. Holden wants Team red to be a force in 2008.

Yeh they are large but no where near the raw images off the camera lol. I re-sized them but can't go too small otherwise lose the impact of the photos.

Fingers crossed, we'll see HRT totally dominant again as it used to be :)

Skaife's the Big Boy now at HRT, both as a driver and team owner, so it'll be hard to place someone else, no matter how good, in the no.1 driving spot - hopefully it dosn't cause issues as it did with Lowndes - but then again, the story was that Lowndes is just a big cry baby who's also always in search of an ever bigger pay packet ???

Problem is, if i was in his situation, i would have left also, i wouldn't have defected to the other side though!!!

I'd hate it if i'd driven so damn well and won the championship to be told that next year, i'd be only second driver well knowing that i was the better driver!!!

As much as Skaife is by far my favourite driver of all time, i really do think if Lowndes had been given the no. 1 position at HRT, he would have done far better then where Skaife is now!!!

I doubt money was the issue as Lowndes had no success with Ford for a while, whereas he was earning alot more with the success at HRT!!!

Dumb decision going to Ford, should've stuck with a big name Holden team and he may have had a few more championships under his belt!!

Good points there Steve, Mark Skaife is also my fav. all time driver :) however I dissagree about the money thing regarding Lowndes....

Even though Lowndes did poorly in his 1st attempt with a Ford team, the stories/rumours were rife that he'd left due to a much bigger pay offer to defect to that Ford team, rather than stay on with HRT (BTW at that time Skaife wasn't the team owner as he is now)....and if you remember back then, one of the most common remarks from Holden fans towards him was -
" money talks and bullshit walks ! " ;)
