FMIC/Front bar clearance on AH SRi..

so ive got a spare brand new never used cooler sitting in my garage..

its a gktech 600/230/76

anyone know if it will fit behind the front bar on my AH SRi?

Might be too long to fit an AH, height seems like it'll fit though!!

Has anyone here actually changed the factory cooler on an AH before??? I know heaps of TS SRi-T's have been done, but haven't seen an AH with an aftermarket cooler!!

I feel a project coming!!!!!!!

Haha i can imagine, but a certain SL Turbo got in the way!!!

If you get a chance, rip the front bar off and see how much clearance is there, and whats in the way!!!

When i installed a cooler on a TS, we ended up turning the cooling fan 90 degrees and putting spacers for the reo bar to make room!!! I'm hoping the AH has more room, seeing as it's a bigger car!!

Little off topic, however i assume that DIXIE would know the answer so i figure i'll post here.

Obviously people do it so it can't be that bad, However i've been wondering if installing an FMIC has any adverse effects on the radiators effectiveness as it seem the radiator is positioned to get the cold air coming in through the same point that the FMIC will be now blocking?

ive hd no temp problems what so ever. the radiator still gets air through the gap in the grill so its not completely blocked. car runs alot smoother under boost with the front mount. thats what i found.

It will be a tight squeeze. When I replaced the lower grille, there wasnt much room as next too the cooler, there's an electric fan. There will be a bit of mucking about to fit a larger cooler.

The I/C has been changed on Kiri's Vxr, not sure of the size of the gktech but i'm guessing it would fit easily.
