Had an opportunity to visit the show last night.

Some observations:

1. Each year the quality of interior plastics seems to get worse. Go sit in an Impreza. Hideous, and every surface you touch is hard and brittle feeling.

2. Surprise... Hyundai I30. Has the interior quality (for a 19K car) that the Japanese small cars seem to lack.

3. Interiors are done best by Audi. They all feel/look better than the equivalent BMW/Merc. S5 = yum yum.

4. White is the new black. RS4 + anthracite rims = horn.

5. Toyota and Honda = boring boring boring.

6. Lancer Evo X = ummmmm, hmmmmm, i know it goes fast but i didn't see people linger over them once they saw them. Unless you know what it is there is NO desireability. On that note the interior of the Colt is better detailed and finished than the Lancer. Go figure.

7. Hummer... giggle. Comments... its so wide but so small inside.

8. Check out the slammed 300C. heheheeh

9. Commodore Sportswagon = winner for Holden.

9. Commodore Sportswagon = winner for Holden

i agree

it has similar looks as an Audi A4 wagon. very nice and i'm sure there will be heaps on the road soon.

and yes, white is the new black, those new pearl paints that are coming out look tops! Toyota IS250 in white is really nice.......

Didnt even hear or see anything in the romour mills of Motor or Wheel about it.

i find the holden ute a bit questionable.
i mean it looks good, but it sits very high, and the tricky thing that holden done with the rear try is to make it deeper but longer, so that it keeps just about the same volume as the previous model. But yeah, its just very very high.
And i still dont like the handbrake on the VE commodores. Its nice when its down, but its very un ergonomical when you have to pull it up etc.

Little Shocked not to see a Corsa VXR on the HSV Stand. But then again with the Maloo and the 20th Ann. Edition Clubsport on offer then i guess the had plenty of lime light already.

yep, put them in a .zip file and upload the zip file.. you get credits on the site, so you can only upload a limited amount of zip files, but there is no restriction on how many files you can put in the zip file..

Today was my second day at the motorshow and i still haven't looked at most cars.

Walk in, do my thing and leave, feet are too sore afterwards to spend time looking at cars :-(

It Was quite good , My only gripe is HSV. They locked all their cars and couldn't (wouldn't?) open them when we asked. I was with my father who is(was?) actually considering buying one and i have a feeling that the experience kind of turned him off them. Was quite ridiculous really i sat in a $200,000 Mercedes with no difficulty yet trying to get into a HSV was like getting blood from a stone.

Other then that though great day out, lots to look at as always Mitsubishi certainly didn't disappoint. Best looking car though had to be the Maserati GT

Well, it was a lazy afternoon at work so myself and a colleague decided to spend it at the motor show.

Highlights for us was the models at the Hummer stand (huge cars, huge cannons!) .. also the Mazda MPS3 Extreme was a stand out. Was disappointed to learn it was concept only. The other stand out concept car on display was the Hyundai Veloster .. awesome design and the retro interior really seems to fit in well.

Was disappointed that the 3 door Golf GTI wasn't on display. The Bufori's were interesting - between them and the cars on the Shannon's display it was a real reminder of how stylish some of the older designs really were.

If I get the chance I might go again this weekend and take plenty of pics.

If you spent 10k just on tuning, you'd have ALOT more than 200kw ATW !!! you'd achieve that with only a Xede and nothing else....with the 8.5k change, you could get yourself some nice mags, suspension and pocket the change :)

When you have a close look at it it has a very " Cheap " turbo decal on the side. Something that you would pick up at a market for about $2.00. The rest of the car looks ok but to me its being targeted at the " Ricers" of the world. TBH i would rather the standard version to look at as it at least looks classy compared to the one photoed above.

i have similiar feeling when looking at the car...in my opinion too many "highlights"...black pieces and decals\paint all over, even the turn signal light\blinker got a black plastick sorround "treatment"! plus they still use the old VS\VT Commodore type of blinkers :(

Turbo decals from eBay and stuff liek that aside, 210kW@5300 / 425Nm@4400 is what I was more concerned (and impressed) by. Plus the interior received a nice upgrade, unlike the HSV VXR :(

Thanks for the pic Dustbug :) and agree with you guys above...

Exterior's a bit dicey, would have been better if all the added black accents looked the same, ie: all gloss or all matt finish, too many different shades of black make it look crap !

Interior has recieved a fine touch and power increase will certainly make this thing a joy/fun to drive - it's plenty fun as they are stock standard.....

Another thing that's not so good is the added cost of it all - 10k....
