Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this car or it's competitors?

Mate's dad just got a VE Senator (mate picked up a VE GTS) - both are unbelievable. Fit and finish and performance blow the VZ out of the water (mate had a VZ Clubby and his Dad had a VZ Senator previously)

They're not cheap, but I guess for what you get, if you bought an equivalent BMW or Mercedes, you're looking at 200K probably.

They're a bit more subtle than the r8/gts and nice at thefront but I think there is a bit of overuse of grey plastic triming around the sideskirts and front bar. And the rear i think looks alot better with the spolier and the gts/r8 rear bar. Still excellent value for money and still looks bloody terrific in black/dark grey metalic...if it was my money tho i'd forget the hsv and get a 99/00 m5.:D :D

i was impressed with the SS..

my flatmate brought one home from work, i had a good look, def better than the last on quality interior..

but you're right, you get what you pay for..

Problem with Holden is, they improve their cars but they don't do anything to improve the manufacturing. The VE is heaps better than the last model, though it is still lagging behind some of the top manufacturers. They should have a good look at Hyundai and check out their quality improvement techniques, ie. train staff better and have quality control officers.

However, I'd still buy a GTS or the Torana or the VE Coupe.

out of the current range i think the senator looks the nicest.
the GTS and clubsport, but the senator just looks more refined.

As much as i love my Holden's and HSV's, i have to say the current model Senator looks pretty shocking!!

I can't stand the mid 90's two tone look, something they got rid of on both the Calais and Statesmans which make those look so much better!!

Also i think the wheels are terrible, very uninspiring!!

If i was to buy one, i'd buy a VE GTS and do what a few other owners have done and fit the Senator rear spoiler on it, they look fantastic!!!
