Whilst servicing the car today, noticed that I must've bottomed out at some stage as one of the bolts holding the heat shielding on the floor pan in place had been ripped out and torn through the shielding. No biggy, but just interesting. So just keep in mind if you're lowered, make sure you check the underbody regularly.

i should have took pics of under my astra before i sold it,

the front chasie rails were looking rather abused, evan had dents in them, the mud type flaps under it were torn off, the muffler had a massive dent in the front of it,

if you go low, expect things to happen, its part of the fun

Hence why manufacturers make their cars as low as possible...

Good note Mat :)

I actually check and inspect the undersides of all my cars periodically anyway, not because they're lowered, but just to make sure everything is ok and to give it all a quick clean up too, I hate oil residue hanging about and it's a good tell tale when gaskets etc. need servicing/changing ;)

I doubt thats because you bottomed out.

probably happened from a speed bump or something similiar.

Lowered cars are fun aren't they!

Yeh sorry that's what I meant. Although I do recall bottoming out a while ago on a big dip on a freeway, bit of sparkage, thought it would've been just the exhaust though.

haha go the sparkage...i saw a gemini bottom out once on dandenong road...except it was his diff that hit the ground and not the exhaust...I love a good light show
