Not really a fan of black wheels, but it would look decent with 24" wheels, theyre getting ridiculous now!!!

I remember the days when 18s were big, so my mate got 19s and everyone couldn't stop talking about it!! Now 19s are standard on alot of cars!!!

honestly big rims n street tyres on a 4wd seem shit to me, might look alright but lets see him get on a beach or play in the mud or anything like that,

im looking for 32" muddies to go on my stoko 15" rims get that big tuff truck look, hopefully

just a really dumb question...

but how is it possible to find:
1. rims
2. even more so.. tyres

that are correctly load rated for that vehicle?
aftermarket correctly load rated rims and tyres are a big issue.. esp for utes and 4wd's.

We've tried to get 17"s for a Hilux (14C standard) and are having massive headaches in trying to do it properly.. spoke to an engineer, and they didnt want to touch it....

Simple answer, people who buy those huge rims don't even know what load rating is.

what are the profiles of the tyres, 30 ?

what are the profiles of the tyres, 30 ?

without knowing the width, profiles wouldn't tell us much

Yea, my old man brought a new Falcon in 1994 and it had 17" wheels, I thought they were massive!

I had 19" wheels on my old commodore (in 2000) and I got the same reaction as your mate!

Genuine 18" SRiT wheels = $2000-3000 = Holden ripping us off

I dont think when the person brought it, that he had the intention of taking it to the beach or up a muddy trail.

The most work out it will probably ever get, was going up that slightly snowy mountain road....... Still I like the look.

bornwild

I agree that the Holden rims are rip off but rims such as BBS, Enkei and Oz certainly aren't. Those 24"s are cheap ass rims for what they are, not for who made them.

And 'about a bee's dick' is a very wrong answer for 'how much more strain does it exert on an engine'.

Anyhow, those rims are fugly. If he wanted to be a knob and buy 24" rims, then do it in style. He could have at least picked some decent 24" rims....

low astra
22nd September 2007, 08:37 AM
its a 4wd, the strain on the engine isnt shit, load it full of camping gear and tow a boat or caravan, thats the strain a 4wd will feel, it will just feel like it always has 4 pasengers instead of 1 with those rims

aparently none of the insurecnce companys will insure anything over a 22" rim anyway....

Yes it does look shithouse, it just needs taller rubber on them! Maybe 60 profile????? And the car needs lowering!

FYI
Those aren't tyres on the rims. They're black ribbed condoms stretched to fir 24" rims.

Well I'm glad most of you like his Land Bruiser(name of the ride). He bulit it to be differnent and I think he did achieve this. The Truck scene in the USA want it sent over to do there show scene, so I think thats a big achievement.
To the stock 4x4 with big wheels, I think they look more silly than his as why have a 4x4 that is even more a soccer mums shopping trolley than an actual 4x4 that will see the mud!!!!.
Oh by the way it's about to have a supercharger installed, he was going for a twin turbo set up on the lexusV8 but decided not to.
I'm sure you will see it at the summernats and can accept how mean it looks.

There's a Land Cruiser up here getting around with something similar to the 24's although the Cruiser's look bigger. I'll grab a pic next time I see it. It's not slammed on its belly though.
