Can this be done??

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if its possible to have my keys for my 2004 model Corsa C changed to the flip keys on the current VE or Astra's???

I don't mind having to pay to have the flip key programed, but i was just after your thoughts and if you think its even a possibility.

you can probably modify it to make it flip by using a second hand flip key, however you wont be able to buy a blank key and program it to your car as the transponders are different and the central locking as well

I'm suprised none of you guys have thought or tried to do this. When I had my SSV the flip key was one of the things I loved, and I'd love to be able to do it again. It seems a little ****ed that the information cant be swapped from one key to another.

too tell you the truth, its a waste of time.
i modded my key to make it flip and well to tell you the truth i found it annoying. hence i went back to the normal key.

it can be done, and it's been done.. but the guy i know who did it to his 03 astra sri isnt on this forum..

it's not that difficult if you know what you're doing, or know someone who does..

I did a stupid thing thismorning and went to holdens, there response was "it cant be done" "no matter what you modify it cant be done"
I walked out feeling sad :( lol.

While I was there I asked about floor mats, trying to find out if the SRI had specific floor mats, and there resonce was NO, and there usniversal floor mat for the barina was $97.94 I was like ummm yeah ok and left.

you can modify the key, but what you cant do iis program an ah astra key to the other astra ts or barina

bear in mind that these guys at the service desk were probably selling fuits b4 selling cars...

I would recommend getting advice from a place where they repair electronics or if u know any electronic engineering place.

yeah that helps a little, at the end of the day it looks like it cant be done, and if it can it wont be cheap, as for someone saying $225 a key thats a little off, replacment flip keys through my dealer are $113. still very expensive yes but I would pay that if it ment I had a flip key.

For those that havent had a flip key, its hard to understand the benifits or wank factor, I miss my SSV for a few reason and the flip key would be one, even if it is only a small one.
