Sorry if it sounds stupid but isn't there something under the bar, a sorta grey-ey black-ey type thing like on the Astra CDTi? Maybe it's just a reflection...but it looks similar. i have no idea what purpose it serves but it sits just under the front bar... it's flexible and actually has a split in the middle on mine so it can be even more flexible.

I hope it's not just me seeing things and that is actually what HISSri is asking about...

i hope so too..... cos that'd be silly asking for something he already has..... i can sort of see something under there.... but thought it was a shadow to begin with

that black thing u c attached underneath is a spoiler lip (well it looks like it from this angle)
its designed to protect the underneath of ur actual bumber/front-spoiler from scratches n scrapping.
sometimes called a spoiler splitter.

not cheap. i was looking at gettin one for my astra - they range from 200 to 390 bucks!!!

i went el-cheapo for a few weeks by attaching my existing rubber strip from the stock bumper to my rieger bumper - ended up being too low n kept scraping almost on every slight incline!! grrr. removed it. i liked the look though.

Yes Diesel the thing under the spoiler is exactly what im talking about, its like a rear defuser but at the front, kind of just makes it look a little lower and protects the front bar. I think I read something about it being called a splitter.

Does that help you guys offer any more info??

Woohoo i'm not insane :D ...well.....much

I don't know where u could get one, but they really do help stop getting scratches on the front bar. There's a sharp (and unavoidable) gutter/ramp convo to get into uni's car park and i've ground out many times (even in the stock CDTi) and yet not a single scratch on the bar. A mark appears on the splitter but simply washes off. Hope you can find a cheap one...Good luck:)
