Yes agree, saw some pics in Wheels or Motor a couple of weeks back and thought what a very good looking update - looks a bit lexus-ish....
I've read the new MPS6 'might' feature a 2.5ltr DISI engine...interesting :)
If they do a as good a job on the new 2009 Mazda 3, that'll be worth looking at too ;)

At least they are on the right track in design, very nice. The new accord coming out looks like carbage.

That's the one.... at least Mazda's bum is much smaller.... less overhang, more wrap around ;)

Ok, you win. Front wise though, I'd say side profile they look identical.
Edit: Actually this raises a theory for me, is everyone trying to make their cars look like a Camry now?

I like the rear proportions, but not a fan of the weak nose.... will date too quickly, but that in my opinion seems to be the designer's goals for Japanese cars.... maybe increase turnover etc

the front lights are a similar shape, other than that the Mazda is much more modern & aggressive than the ol' Camry IMO.....it looks purposeful and striking to me

Wait to see whit the 6 looks like on puny base spec 16 inch rims rather than the top spec unit pictured :) Thats always the test of a good overal design.

Spot on.
Damn fine looking car, well proportioned with a strong stance. Let's hope Mazda put as much or more effort into interior quality & noise suppression.

Agree it’s a nice looking car. I found the current model borrowed a few lines from the IS300 so it’s no surprise this car has borrowed a few from the IS350.
My fiancé drives a SP23 and the interior quality and noise suppression is much better than the Astra so I can only assume it can only get better
