This car is going to be amazing, cant wait to see one.

Looks like there are 3 specs in Japan, one with a manual one with DSG and the basic build your own rally car RS.

I wonder if pricing will change much over the out going model .

Thanks Simon :)

This ones actually been posted on the 2 Evo forums I'm a member of for quite some time.

I didn't put it up here, because I didn't think anyone would be interested ;)

Oh and they call it SST - Sport Shift Transmission :)

If it's anything like most previous models, it'll actually be a hell of alot more than that stock standard........

Evo 9 is advertised as 206kw and 355nm - it actually posseses over 225kw and around 400nm stock :D

From what I know the X has over 240kw, but is still being advertised as 206kw ;)

Here's some of the latest info on the Evo X

Some Japanese spec test mules have been driven 'fanged' for the 1st time by people outside of Mitsubishi - here's the comments....

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FirstDrives/articleId=122744#24

I also read on the OzEvo forum performance figures attained so far are:

0-100km/h 5.0sec
0-400m 13.8sec ?? (I put question marks there as to me that dosn't add
up, more often than not a flat 5 to 100km/h would equate to at least a mid to low 13 over the 1/4) - these are times for the 5spd manual, 'they say' the SST is quicker ?? lets wait n see :)
0.79g on the skid pan......kind of makes that new Shelby supercar look good in terms of road holding as it achieved over 1.0g on the skid pan ;)

food for thought... if Mitsu Oz packs their bags and heads home (which it is certainly looking like it might) then how could this effect owning a mitsubishi?

resale would most certainly be reduced

parts & servicing would become more expensive as no one would be regularily stocking them

Agree Nik, I'm not a fan of car graphics either !

Just a note on the top spec Evo X which will be the called the Evo 10 'MR' model - it uses a combination of "Eibach springs" and Bilstein shocks........

Just thought I'd mention that, as there's been alot of talk regarding springs on other threads, what better recommendation can you have than this, if Eibachs have been chosen by Mitsu for the new top spec Evo, they are undoutbtebly amongst the best :)

Our guess is that this model would be pegged circa the Luxury Car Tax threshold (currently $57,009). The outgoing Evo IX was priced at $56,789.

US website Edmunds.com claims the new car laps Mitsubishi's own 2.4km test track 2sec quicker than the outgoing Evo IX!

2 seconds on a 2.4km track!!

hell the wrx was around a second faster then the SriT back in 2003 around wakefeild park... that gives you an idea of just how much faster 2 full seconds is!

not sure if it will be in my price range since i have a mate with a modded evo 9 that might be moving to the states...i have first dibs to buy it if he does :D (240kw atw, full mega $$ coilover kit, swaybars and strut braces, aero kit and 2 sets wheels with race rubber :D <$45k...)

Sounds like a buy and a half Nik, go for it......that's one potent machine, should easily do mid to low 12's, as that's simialr power to what most guys have with their IX's on the Oz Evo forum and they're all 12sec. machines :)

That's 0-60mph :) add 0.5 for 0-100km/h.

The initial yank tests suggest the EvoX is no faster than the Evo9. And the yanks did get both the luxo and stripped Evo9. Weight difference was only 30kg.

Add a whole 1/2 a sec for an extra 2mp/h (100km/h = 62mp/h) don't know about that one, we can only go by actual times run, not our own speculation ;)

The slowest time I've read was 0-100km/h in 5.2sec, that's quicker than the IX.

Even if the yank tests are accurate, that still means that the new Evo X has heaps more power and torque and handling prowess over the IX as it weighs significantly more - there might only be 30kg difference between MR and RS Evo X's but it's over 100kg more than a IX :)

We'll have to just hang in there and wait till we get our hands on them and see how they do.....even if performance is the same as a IX the X is a far superior O/A machine, forget about the IX it's history :)

Just on a side note, the new Sti is the one to watch out for, from info I've seen, it'll be quicker than the Evo X, but the Evo will still be the master when it comes to handling prowess :)

Well, let's not speculate on that shall we ;) The new Impreza has a very good chassis. We just haven't seen it yet in full sports spec.

If subaru can expand on the current WRX's linear power delivery for the new STi (ie.. less lag and quicker onboost) then I think the 0.5L advantage of the STI should see it have a real advantage in-gears over the Lancer. Not to mention the STi should have a 6 speed manual (as opposed to the Lancers 5 speed) and weigh less.

I have just finished reading a glowing review of the EVO-X in the latest AUTOCAR magazine.
The EVO-X for NZ arrives mid next month, and will initially be available with manual transition only. Even with the high performance kit as standard (Light weight two piece Brembo front disks and BBS wheels) the manual version costs $1500 less than the outgoing GSR, at NZ$62,990. New Zealand specifications includes the matt exterior finish, a keyless operating system, privacy glass, auto on HID lighting, 7 airbags and data dot vehicle identification.
Limited numbers of the TC-SST EVO will arrive first thing 08, costing NZ$67,990. Later next year we will be getting the Australia Poo-Spec Evo, which will come with less power on tap due to the inconsistent fuel quality found in your market.

At this stage I'm waiting (and constantly cleaning the drool off my face :D) for the new GT-R to land here in Oz. and see what the deal is with this monster and then possibly wait for and compare the new VE coupe (I read some rumours HSV is working on a new AWD coupe 4 variant of the VE as the new flag ship with the corvette LS7 - interesting), once all these are out, I'll decide from there :)
