how much do I need to lower so it sits just on the tyres..?

How low have people gone with their vectras with the best results, minimal scrubbing, better handling and nice cosmetic look>?

Best to grab a metal ruler or a solid ruler that you can measure the distance from you guard to the top of your wheels. That way it will give you an idea of how far you MAY want to lower.

Keep in mind there are possible legal repurcussions if you lower to much. Depending on which state your in. 100mm is the lowest point of a cars undercarrige can sit bar the bottom of the wheel hubs. OR 1/3 lower than the manufacturers original equipment on the car. EG - if the car sits 210mm you can lower it by 70mm so long as any part of the undercarrige sits 100mm from the ground.

depends on what you want to do. for about $350 you can have some some -60MM king springs fitted, and yes you car will be much lower, but your car might not handle as well and the ride will suffer. but if you change the shocks as well(prolly $1000+) the handling will prolly be better and so will the ride. no sure about astra's, but you also might need a camber corrector for the rear (another $300) to stop the angle of the tyres being so bad.

i have lowered my v6 by 2 inches at the back and front
you wont need a rear camber mate
you will find that it will handle unreal but with a harsh ride
the plastic under your wheel arch will probably crack after a while

oh and avoid all potholes!
